if it is reni i will have to take some points off my potter review. surely potter wouldn't take a sidewards step
i would be happy with patterson, from what i remember of him he was a good running forward capable of bending the line which is precisely what we need
i would also happily take one of the cowboys boys off their hands; looking at their players they have excessive stock and we could pick an unwanted one up relatively cheap; taumalolo, lowe, reithmuller etc
i hope we dont see croker and asotasi here, both of which are past it

in terms of the back
surely it would be a half to assist brooks and his development; anasta is past it and shouldnt be in first grade at all, let alone in the spine. sirro has been shown his future in the 2nd row and keeping him in the halves will eventually only hamper his development.
wallace, whilst not the greatest half going around, offers brooks a lot of assistance, his kicking is fairly reliable, he has big game experience (blues and finals)
where as with hunt we have versatility and if we sign him on a 2 year contract, with the option of extras we then have a contingency plan should brooks/moses not work out. if all three work out well, hunt is capable of coming off the bench, once we have a set of big forwards running around in 2016 (assuming we attract players and our juniors continue to develop)

I'm hoping potter brings some of his pommy relations over, and we can discover our own burgess bros or whatever

Ah noooo not Blake Austin! Nothing against the guy, he just doesn't seem to have a set position. He's okay at all the positions he's played, just not exceptional.

There seems to be enough smoke surrounding Cory Patterson so i'll say lock him in. No idea who the other one. A Cowboy or Panther does fit the bill, heck even an Eel fits the bill given the cleanout the 3 clubs are likely to see happen. Although I will say this, of the 4 guys we've signed for next season, only Dene Halatau was rumoured. Pat Richards and Keith Lulia were both left field signing. Even Martin Taupau wasn't really a strong rumour. With that in mind, it could be anyone.

The more I think about potentially signing Coote as others have mentioned, the more I like it.

He could cover 5/8 well until Moses fills out a bit and comes into first grade. He could also cover fullback if something happens to Tedesco and is a better utility than Moltzen.

Once Moses comes into first grade he could play off the bench in a utility role similar to Mortimer and Segeyaro. Come on and provide some spark in attack.

Time will tell.

Blake Austin had massive raps on him as a junior but never kicked on. Patterson never really cut it in the NRL last time,handy player but only a boarder line fgrader
