Is there somewhere to find the statson tries conceded via bombs? I think its overstated on here just how many tries we let in from the kick.

The consideration here is one of the wingers has major defensive issues , he did try to improve this area last season with some results but was always suspect. I can not see this coach tolerating this aspect of his game without major improvement so it will be interesting. A lot here seem to forget that these defensive issues where exactly the area opposing coaches were directing the attack to .

I’ve been saying that forever - well it seems like our right edge defense has been garbage forever.
But I’ll be honest - I don’t get into debates about it on the forum because I’m not sure where the fault lies. Inside men rushing up or in or is it our winger jumping the gun to shut down the play. I reckon it’s actually both.

Only mistake I noticed was when he got beaten after Ponga fell off a tackle on Roberts.

Yeah he got turned inside out but Ponga shouldn't of fell off and Roberts is one of the best centres in the world.

I know what you mean but he was put in some tough situations where he was having to cover a lot of ground while the defence was backpedalling and not many centres could contain Roberts in those circumstances. Space + pace = trouble.

My only criticism of Marsters in that game is he wasn't chasing hard enough back to help his back 3 out after kicks , but saying that he always had his hand up to take his share of the hit ups

Rating players defensively in one off charity games is tough , maybe 3 training sessions together and you probably share that position with another player for half of those sessions ….
