TIGERS enforcer Chris Heighington did not bat an eyelid when asked to read a book to students of the Exodus Foundation.
"Forever Brothers, our [2005] Grand Final story, which is a great read," said Heighington, as he mingled with more than 20 students before training at Concord Oval.
"I was hopeless at school, but I'll do anything to help kids improve their reading and only wish I had done better."
Heighington, Blake Ayshford and new Tigers recruit Arana Taumata took time out with their new fans before hitting the training paddock.
Next year Tigers players will work closely with the Exodus Foundation, which helps students in Years 5 and 6 to develop their reading and writing skills. The players will visit the Foundation's learning centre at Ashfield monthly.
Former Tigers star Brett Hodgson has been training twice a week with his former club before he departs for Huddersfield in England.
