Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah dropped from NRL to reserve grade

I'm as shocked as everyone else is and don't agree with the decision, especially close to a final push for the semi's, but is the original directive actually from JT.
Pascoe wants ET to stay and will try to pull out all stops to keep him, O'Neil can see that he is an asset to the team and does not want to loose him, he also is suppose to agree to final team, could the directive come from these two, and JT has now been given the opportunity to wield the sword.
There is no doubt IMO that this is to push Farah closer to the exit sign above the door.
JT will no doubt be the scapegoat, but I think his job for the next 12 months plus will be safe, especially id the directive was given from higher up.

I think it a ridiculous decision but a simple one, Farah goes and kills it in lower grades, Taylor should say it my decision and if we don't make the 8 this year that he'll man up up and quit. I remember him faking injury at the end of his Wests days because he was going to Norths. He has never had any credibility as a player or a coach. At least he hasn't got drunk and hit Farah.

Please JT get drunk and try your karate moves again. I'm sure Robbie would love nothing more than to clean up this fool. Actually, I think half the playing roster would love nothing more than to see this too.

Yeah it's official, quotes from JT and everything. Wow big call, not warranted at all I would think? Strange decision..

I don't have an issue if this is to get ET

Times have changed , people need to change with them

As I've said in the past , if you choose to live by the sword, you might die by the sword

There's no way this decision would not have been rubber stamped. Do you think Pascoe and O'Neill would risk the backlash if they didn't support the decision?

After supporting 'Tigers' not wests for over 40 years, I can honestly say I do not wish to have anything to do with this club any further or the NRL. It's been hard enough saying West Tigers as it is and now having a wests coach ridding us of anything affiliation with Tigers is just enough.

If there were issues here, as a Coach why has JT not learnt how to actually be a coach and administer rules and decisions instead of the crap he has just come out with. Farah hasn't even been there for a couple of weeks, with Origin and injuries and yet he is dismissed.

Poor decision, poor management and just disgraceful. Take your team and sport and put it where the sun doesn't shine, enough is enough.

Good luck to Robbie, I hope you can find some semblance of positivity from this, you are a great player and great role model for this sport, however I and my family can no longer watch this disgraceful treatment of an actual loyal player.

Good riddance and JT, let's hope you at some point learn to be a coach and not take your personal feelings into the sport and rid it of players who actually draw the crowds.

My take on the situation is that when the peace pipe was smoked earlier in the year, Pascoe,Taylor and farah brokered a deal that after SOO no3 Farah would announce he was retiring/moving on or what ever in 2017, and this has not happened so all hell has broke loose.

I can not imagine Pascoe would allow Farah to be dropped and my guess he is involved in this call. Very messy stuff and what message is it sending to the likes of Teddy,Brooks and Moses. They would be having second thoughts when it is time to put pen to paper next year.

Anyway as a football call it is madness, no other word can describe it and it must have a massive destabilising effect on the club, but as I said before this call is nothing to do with football and as always, Farah still holds all the aces

This seems very strange if playing him off the bench was a compromise, why the sudden change? so at the expense of a conspiracy theory what if Robbie engineered a situation at training this week so that JT had no choice but to drop him?. I would rather let the Coaching staff live with this decision rather than us second guess the reasons behind this move. Sunday will soon tell if it was the right move.

I can cop this on 2 conditions

1\. The playing group doesn't get lost over this and they throw in the towel. It would be criminal, and if they do, heads need to roll at the end of the yr, that's non negotiable.

2\. ET doesn't dragged back into the hooking rotation. Halatau and either Cherrington/Liddle.

I think you will find that the hooker rotation will be Halatau/Edwards.

Edwards has been playing 40 minutes at hooker in NSW Cup and having watched him closely against the Dogs last game he was really good at dummy half. He then also provides you with a rotation option for the props or back rowers as well giving us great utility value but he was very impressive at dummy half with quick smooth passing and great defence was one of our best on ground

I personally can't see this as being the reason. I think Robbie has been good basically all season for us. Still if this is true and somehow we are a better team on the weekend I'll be stoked.

If it doesn't work out JT should be sacked. We are right in the hunt to make the top 8 this season.

I thought he played well in SOO and has been playing well enough in NRL to stay at WT. But so it goes in NRL. Maybe Robbie may want to go elsewhere ??.

:astonished: :sign: :supporter:

Well I don't agree with the decision I seem to recall people saying Taylor wouldn't have the nuts to do it…Well he has..

It is a big call. Agree with others that Taylor would not have made this decision alone knowing that it would drag the club into the media again in a very negative light. The team is still in contention for the 8 and if things go pear shaped from here, Taylor will be moved on. I think that the fact that the club is endorsing the decision is a clear hint to Robbie that he is not wanted regardless of who the coach is

Absolute Moron. "Supporting Tigers not Wests for 40 years?""A Wests coach?" I'm sure the club or true supporters won't miss you with pathetic comments like that.
I wonder if Robbie was a Wests junior would you wish him just as much luck?

Yep there's no way this call was made based on form, does JT and co. think we're all idiots? Farah is better then Halatau, and he's the starting hooker! Liddle has had one FG game and I really don't think there are too many other options.. None that are proven anyway. Complete BS. Fair enough to make a call like this if needed (for whatever reason) but I don't think being lied to is going to go down too well with fans..

Nah I for one hope we get beaten on Sunday…. Can't believe I typed that but this decision has stumped me and I hope it effects the team as a whole. Just when I thought the scarecrow was getting somewhere with the team he does this.
BURN THE SCARECROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting point that half the playing roster would like a shot at the coach. Makes you wonder why quite a number of current players are renewing in recent times. Either the coach is OK by them or he is getting sacked and they all know it, but has not been leaked to anyone else. Mmmm…me thinks its the former......

We should beat saints who only manage 13 points a game with or without Farah, so a win will be no vindication of the decision.
But as Supercoach said, what will Teddy, Brooks, Moses and the like think when they see a club legend treated like this, and don't think other clubs won't bring this up in negotiations, a really dumb move that will bring a world of hurt to the club.
The media are going to give parra a break and we will be open slather, Farah has done nothing wrong he is honouring his contract, the person whose contract should end is the one being quoted in the press release.
There is no way this is our strongest 17, and best chance of winning, there are probably 3 or 4 others in the team who should be dropped before Farah, that press release was spin and and nothing else, only the gullible will buy it.
