Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah dropped from NRL to reserve grade

We can do without this turmoil at the club especially at this critical time in the season..

I really have to question the timing of this..
Real poor reflection of the clubs decision making regardless of what has been happening behind closed doors

Found this in an article…...

"On the way to the video session, Taylor pulled him aside.

Bang, Taylor told Robbie he was dropped.

Farah’s reaction was storm into Tigers general manager of football Mark O’Neill’s office and deliver a both barrels spray.

The Tigers long-term hooker then left training fuming.

By rights, the club could probably issue Farah with a breach notice for the way he’s brushed his training commitments."

After supporting 'Tigers' not wests for over 40 years, I can honestly say I do not wish to have anything to do with this club any further or the NRL. It's been hard enough saying West Tigers as it is and now having a wests coach ridding us of anything affiliation with Tigers is just enough.

If there were issues here, as a Coach why has JT not learnt how to actually be a coach and administer rules and decisions instead of the crap he has just come out with. Farah hasn't even been there for a couple of weeks, with Origin and injuries and yet he is dismissed.

Poor decision, poor management and just disgraceful. Take your team and sport and put it where the sun doesn't shine, enough is enough.

Good luck to Robbie, I hope you can find some semblance of positivity from this, you are a great player and great role model for this sport, however I and my family can no longer watch this disgraceful treatment of an actual loyal player.

Good riddance and JT, let's hope you at some point learn to be a coach and not take your personal feelings into the sport and rid it of players who actually draw the crowds.

You could always join Lathami and several others on Saturday arvo to cheer Robbie on. The team might even wear the mainly Orange jersey so you can pretend it is Balmain if you so wish.

PS. I supported the former Tigers for thirty odd years before the merger.

…and we are about to start negotiations with our biggest star (possibly in our history)for a long term deal who just so happens to share the same manager as one Robbie Farah. The same player that Robbie convinced to stay and walk out on a contract from another club.

Yep - nothing but upside on this decision.

We just be paying for this for years.

We should beat saints who only manage 13 points a game with or without Farah, so a win will be no vindication of the decision.
But as Supercoach said, what will Teddy, Brooks, Moses and the like think when they see a club legend treated like this, and don't think other clubs won't bring this up in negotiations, a really dumb move that will bring a world of hurt to the club.
The media are going to give parra a break and we will be open slather, Farah has done nothing wrong he is honouring his contract, the person whose contract should end is the one being quoted in the press release.
There is no way this is our strongest 17, and best chance of winning, there are probably 3 or 4 others in the team who should be dropped before Farah, that press release was spin and and nothing else, only the gullible will buy it.

851, youre absolutely entitled to your oponion and you are a Farah supporter and thats Ok. But do you honestly think this decision has been made by Taylor and Taylor alone, without any comment or input form anyone else? If you do, there is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise. And if you dont, why are you not calling for others involved to be terminated also?

It will to an extent because it will go a long to showing us the playing group hasn't been lost.

This is pure speculation. You don't know what the players have been told or how they feel about this.

If we can still give the 8 a shake, the decision would be justified and would show the players are still onboard.

And hello to the interesting number of newbies in this thread. Lots have just arrived with only one or two posts to their name just in time for this thread and to make comment about the coach and his poor skills. Welcome all.

Slim chance of him playing reserves I reckon

Mate i couldnt agree more
I had given Taylor the benefit of the doubt
I had even started to warm up to him and his poor coaching thus far thinking he was taking the club in the right direction

Its no way the right direction to treat a club legend like this

And im more appalled some people here are loving the fact this has transpired.

Robbie is a fierce competitor, if i was him i'd stay put to fight the battle and win the war with Taylor

For all i know Taylor is closer to getting the boot if the team fails to make the top 8

Robbie will have the last laugh if you ask me .. and so he should.. He is a CLUB LEGEND..
Not a cheat, a grub or someone who does the wrong thing by other people

Yep there's no way this call was made based on form, does JT and co. think we're all idiots? Farah is better then Halatau, and he's the starting hooker! Liddle has had one FG game and I really don't think there are too many other options.. None that are proven anyway. Complete BS. Fair enough to make a call like this if needed (for whatever reason) but I don't think being lied to is going to go down too well with fans..

I thought the message was clear all along…JT believes the club, and specifically, the halves and Teddy, play better when Farah is not on the field...this was evidently clear last year and through 2016...that being the case I would have started the year with Farah in reserve grade rather than string everyone along...thinking everything is hunky dory...

Can't understand why you would name a player in the squad only to drop him 24 hours later … Doesn't make sense.
No matter what way you look at it, it's a shabby way to treat one of our favourite sons not to mention unprofessional in the extreme.

I know where you're coming from, but why now then? Farah has been coming off the bench in the past few games he's played, and was even named on Tuesday in the lineup? Who else could we even put in the rotation? There aren't many options without going to some unnecessary effort because of the second tier cap. I don't think we can just throw Liddle back in. And we all know putting ET at Hooker is counterproductive to the entire team, so this decision makes no sense.. And that's because there's no explanation that they can comfortably give us.

The fact this is the most winnable game of the year is not a coincidence.
I think JT is moving now to prove we don't need Robbie to win.

I don't know if it is the right call, but a gutsy one nonetheless.

Well it shows that the coach , CEO, and GM are all on the same page, working together. It's been a while since that's been the case.

OMFG, wow, how to make sure your team doesn't make the finals this year. We had a chance of making the 8 .. but not without a proper hooker / dummy half in the side. I'm pretty sure our chances our blown. We lose this one, which is very winnable for us, but because we do have not a proper rake / distributer we are more than likely going to look very ordinary in attack and will be the laughing stock of league on Monday and being known for the team who the coach stuffed.

I don't care about the feud the two have, he still has to pick a best team for each game. It's shown in the past if we use Halatau or Elijah at the dummy half we lose .. !! St George will be grinning all the way to game on Sunday. Each game that Farah has come on from the bench, he has created more opportunities for us and has won the game for us.

I'm pretty sure the rest of the team will be shocked by this, their minds will be off the game because of this decision, so be warned this could be one of our worst displays this weekend.

I don't care if this "dh" coach hates Farah, let the guy play out this season with the team, he is by far the best number 9 we have at the club. Liddle will have his time soon enough if he stays with the club. Cherrrington is gone .. off to the Panthers for sure next season, and the great buy of the one legged Ballin who was going to be the nail in the coffin for Farah, has proved that this coach has no idea about his players, Ballin will not return and we have payed for him at a cost.

I am sick, sick, sick of this coach destroying the club that I love !!

sorry for the rant .. 😢
