Hopefully this puts the Perth relocation rubbish to bed for good.

Wests Tigers would like to respond to comments made in Rugby League Week magazine on July 21, 2016, claiming that the Club would be relocating to Western Australia.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that the Club will not be moving to Perth at any time in the future.

“The comments made in no way represent the views of the Wests Tigers organisation and we can confirm that they are not based on any facts,” said Pascoe.

“Under the current NRL Licence, and also in the draft of the proposed new NRL Licence, the ARLC and the NRL has no ability to relocate any Club.

“Wests Tigers’ Board of Directors and Management have absolutely no plans that feature Perth in its future,” he said. “Wests Tigers hopes that this puts an end to this rumour that has come up a number of times in recent years and has absolutely no credibility.

“Wests Tigers are committed to strengthening relationships with those in our existing geographical footprint,” said Pascoe. “We have been blessed with a large footprint throughout Sydney and will be doing everything we can to enrich the lives of those within our area through Rugby League. We are proud of the work that our players and staff do in our community and will continue to increase our involvement in the region, cementing our position here.”

Heard this on NRL360 last night for the first time, unsure if it was portrayed as an opinion piece or fact by Blocker

Balmain and Wests have done their part in limiting the amount of teams in Sydney by merging to make the Wests Tigers. End of story. We haven't had a great 17yrs but it all looks good for the future now. Hopefully Pascoe's statement puts it all to bed now.

Well thats that then. Unfortunately there will still be some on here that will continue to push this WA rumour.

WA will get their team eventually, won't be anytime soon but as i've said all along it will and should be their own.

Backdoor Benny is at it again!

Really?? You mean Benny Elias no doubt?? Where does it have any correlation with Benny??

Benny and a couple of others got into a trouble on a visit to Country NSW,Girl was paid off to keep quiet.

lol. I think he meant wheres the correlation to moving to Perth.

Yes Gallagher that's what I meant hahaha

for me - I'd rather re-locate and if that meant Dubai than so be it - rather than becoming North Sydney or Newtown.
I have foxtel. i travel the world.
And spare some thought for Newtown - he is a good person - he likes us. We like him.

I think in the coming years speculation about which Sydney club will be forced to relocate (or fold) will shift to St George Illawarra. Wests Ashfield is flying right now. Profits are up year on year and they are investing for future growth. Unless they decide to sell the club (won't happen) than an Ashfield community club won't shift their primary sporting franchise to Perth. I don't think they'll even agree to ever move it to the Macarthur on a permanent basis. Wests were known as the Millionaires club in the 50's and those days are coming back.

Where will they be training or based at when the West connex road construction begins ?

Somewhere closer than Perth. Anywhere with a footy oval, a gym and some office space.

I'm sure they have plenty of options from Leichhardt to as far as Campbelltown not worth worrying about
