Eisenhuth made an interesting comment about Madge in his radio interview. He said that Madge is very honest with the players and that the players always know where they stand with him.
He said that with some coaches he has played under, one never knows where one stands, so that being dropped can come as a complete surprise.
It seems that Madge puts his players on-notice and that when they are dropped (or relegated to the bench in Brooks' case) it would not come as much of a surprise, and they would certainly know why they were dropped.
Eisenhuth, at least, appreciates the coach's honesty.
I don’t think any player will be thinking the coach doesn’t have faith in them, as Eiso said he’s very honest with them and I’ve heard other players say they know madge believes in them all to become that top level team.
I’m glad we have a coach who isn’t afraid to make the tough decisions and drop players. You don’t get anywhere letting guys keep their spots if they don’t deserve it.
People are saying McGregor made lots of changes at dragons but he didn’t actually drop the guys who needed dropping to be honest, Norman has been dreadful and he’s been in the team every week. It took him forever to debut Clune who deserved it for half a season. The only time there’s been changes is when the team list is out of his control
The easiest and softest decision was not to drop Mbye.
