Let’s go for facts rather than speculation, any player outside your top 25 bites into the second tier cap, at least 5 of the current top 25 are unavailable through injury, leaving at most 20 of the top 25 players left available for selection and then they need to name a 21 man squad, its anyone’s guess which of the fringe players are top 25 but Lovett certainly is and Chee-Kam is also likely so they will continue to get picked most weeks in the foreseeable future.

It’s a simple fact of NRL life that the coach and club have to be prudent when using players outside the top 25, live with it.

Good post

Agree perfect post. Some people seem to think we can cut half the team ever week. I'm sure once a few injuries clear up the rookies will make way and everyone will be up in arms but the club doesn't have much choice.

Out of interest does anyone know if a top 25 was announced at the start of the season? I remember a squad during pre season but it has something like 32 players

I'm not for wholesale changers . Just don't think we should be playing Lovett and Chee Kam in the same side. Some people are saying we shouldn't have Chris Lawrence and McQueen in the same 2018 side, however both these players are a lot better than Lovett and MCK.
I'd drop one of Lovett and MCK and bring in Twal.
Other than that I don't think we can field a better side than the one that has been picked this week.

I agree and don't think we'll see them together once everyone is back. Josh and Chris will probably come in for those two

Hes gonna have leg injuries his whole career, i just know it.

I recall one of the Origin players saying a few years ago that actually backing up rapidly from Origin is better than playing 3-4 days later - the stiffness and aches become more prominent after you've rested a few.

But really criticising Turdesco for not backing up on Friday, especially when he had to go off for some reason during the match, that's a bit too much. Better he take a week than play and get hurt for a longer period.

Marsters can play in the centres as a stop gap but it's clear he doesn't have the speed or agility to make a go of it longer term. He's a back rower through and through.

We currently have a squad with almost every player fit for selection. The only ones out are Lawrence, Idris and Aloiai i believe. That leaves 22 players up for selection without impacting the cap. The only players being selected who probably aren't in the top 25 are Eisenhuth and possibly Marsters.

Eisenhuth and Marsters are both in the top 25.

What is our top 25? haven't seen it listed anywhere.

Josh Aloiai, Matt Ballin, Luke Brooks, Michael Chee Kam, Joel Edwards, Jacob Junior Felise, Tim Grant, Watson Heleta, Justin Hunt, Jamal Idris, Chris Lawrence, Jacob Liddle, Jack Littlejohn, Kyle Lovett, Mitchell Moses, Kevin Naiqama, David Nofoaluma, Jordan Rankin, Ava Seumanufagai, Tim Simona, Bayley Sironen, Sauaso Sue, Elijah Taylor, James Tedesco, Aaron Woods

That's the only positive in him leaving.

I no longer care jack about his injuries or the fact his out this week.

….... based on they way the drama has played out.

Teddy withdrawn for Titans game, something about an ankle.
Personally I'd thought he would pull the concussion excuse. But you know, whatever.

Wouldn't put money on Woods backing up either, I haven't heard anything about him pulling out just I doubt he would bother putting the effort in.

Mate did you watch last nights game? Every player on both teams were playing their guts out. I'm sure some of them could hardly walk today, let alone back up 48 hours later.

Yes buddy I watched it. Ted just does not get the benefit of the doubt with me anymore. Best wishes to him, he's a great player, his heart is just not in it for the Tigers.

I only hope that Cleary does not have Woods as our captain again (though I think he probably will). He has made a choice not to represent our club, not to be a part of our club. That's fine fair enough, but why then be the leader/ captain of our club?

He is not leading us, he should not be our captain, and any time he is named our captain the whole game feels hollow.

Agree with you there. Looks like Cleary has named Woods as Captain again though. Really bad call. Woods is a heartless slug.

Too right mate, but bugger Woods, so sick of him. Really hope Nofa gets across the line tonight, a couple of times would be great! He's close to a tryscoring record at Campbelltown isn't he? Would make it an awesome night if he can get that record, and we get the win as well.

Yeah that'd be sweet. Wouldn't mind seeing Ryan James get smashed out of the game but can't see any of our forwards stepping up. Not sure re Nofo's record.

Swap Eisenhuth and Taylor.

Eisenhuth could be that toiling third prop in the 13.

Allows Taylor to be a bit more dynamic on the edges.

What's your explanation?

Second tier salary cap?

If Woodsy wants to keep his big mouth first round rivalry up with his ex he has to lead his team to a victory tonight - that should give him some incentive to prove a point and more points for Tigers, a win-win.
