I was at first shocked as I thought Fonua had been dropped for Kev. But upon hearing Fonua was late, fair enough. We can still beat the Panthers, their hooker was out I thought, so that'll help.

To get dropped for being late, he must have had no excuse other than he slept in or something. If his car broke down or the trains were late, you could understand that, and he wouldn't have been dropped. At least he wasn't sleeping in the car near the training.

He'll be back next week, he'll be even hungrier, and though we might see an error or two from him, he'll smash them.

Mahe was on his way back to reserves last week with MWZ replacing him. That was before Kev pulled out for 'personal reasons', which gave him a reprieve and the chance to shine at centre. He took that opportunity with both hands, but then shows tardiness and is rightly punished by his peers, yes his teammates, before being sanctioned by those above.

That’s right Russell, because the previous coach was putting in idiots like Rankin and Lovett every week at the expense of much better players.

With Fonua, fine him, make it hurt his hip pocket. Don’t punish the fans. This is an important game and we are far less likely to win without someone like Fonua there.

IMO fining someone never works , this is why idiots still use their phones in cars it is just money,take there licence the phones will not be in there hands. I do not feel I am being punished ,after the way the club has been run the last decade I applaud the actions taken ….examples have to be made the players do not run our club anymore!

You might feel differently if that fine was $10k-$20k rather than a couple of hundred bucks.

And if this weekends game was a qualifying final Fonua would be playing !

If the club were deadset serious Fonua wouldn't be playing ISP either this weekend .

5 co-captains LMAO …that's a joke in itself !

The Wests Tigers have dropped new cult hero Mahe Fonua to the Intrust Super Premiership after he arrived at a training session on Sunday close to an hour late.

NRL.com has been told the Wests Tigers coaching staff and captaincy group discussed the course of action required and all agreed it would be best for Fonua to be dropped this weekend.

Fonua, who slept in on Sunday, has been one of the Tigers' best over the past two weeks.

However, the Tigers are hellbent on upholding a set of standards that have helped them be the surprise packets of the Telstra Premiership with an impressive 6-4 record over the first 10 rounds of the season.

Kevin Naiqama returns in the centres after missing last Thursday's win over North Queensland to attend a family member's funeral.
 
Fonua will respond in ISP.

I almost feel sorry for the bloke opposite him.

3 trys, 12 tackle busts, 3 HIAs, 220m, and a field goal.
