I reckon talau being there is a bit of a crack at both Joey and garner. Madge is showing that he wants talau in the team by having him on the bench and knows he can cover centre and imo 2nd row also plus wing if need be. I like this but only the two props on the bench and one of those played average last week is a concern.

Tough ask this week. Commitment in defence and general kicking game needs to rise several notches to compete against the cooks.

Based on use of Talau last week, he is there as a back rower, with the potential to cover the entire backline if we cop a few injuries.

Basically a better version of MCK?

I don't think so. I think they are similar players now that Talau has filled out a bit. Talau has more upside.

Talau definitely has more upside but MCK has more experience playing in the back row.

How does Garner keep a spot in the 13?

It’s R2, I said earlier, if you start sacking everyone who makes a mistake, then we be will running out with the U19’s team in another 3 rounds.

A few have mentioned it, we are a work in progress, these top teams have been together for 2 or 3 seasons, they purr along and know what they are doing.

Hopefully we don’t have to wait that long?

I don’t think that you should panic and make changes after just one game, if someone doesn’t preform two games in a row then it’s time for a stint in CC.

Didn't see Talau play as I fell asleep 10 minutes into the second half. Based on comments on various other platforms including this one, he made a decent impact in his short stint. our depth in the back row is just about the worst in the comp. apart from Blore and Luciano it's then Garner and Chee-Kam, and then Simpkin who's untested and is also probably a better middle forward

He came on when we did a lot of defence sadly but when he had ball in hands he looked energetic sniffing around the ball. Has good footwork that could work well against tired forwards late in the game

I like the move, he is only going to get bigger and can ball play. Get him some runs in the middle and might become a Lock style option down the track.

Musgrove will be back next week and will be taking a bench spot. Blore a couple rouds after that. Its actually not a bad side. If the side actually defends well we could go close.

Was hungover. More passed out than fell asleep. The way we started the second half was same old. Usually it takes 5-6 games for a performance like that. Disappointing to see it in the first game, so didn't have the mental strength to stay awake for the rest.

That bench is light on, not liking it at all. I think there will be changes, I wouldn't have both Mybe & Talau there. Starting side is as expected.
