WESTS Tigers Team V Roosters...

Check out this video where the debutantes were presented with their WT jersey.

I can see why Josh Reynolds was signed…every time he speaks I get pumped.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary has updated his 19-man squad to take on the Sydney Roosters tomorrow afternoon for their Round 1 clash at ANZ Stadium.

With all 17 players successfully completing today's final training session, no changes are expected to the side with David Nofoaluma and Taane Milne both dropping out of the original squad.

Benji Marshall (calf) has been cleared to make his Wests Tigers return off the interchange bench.

Tim Grant and Matt McIlwrick have been retained as cover for the side, with the latter named to feature in Western Suburbs Magpies' Intrust Super Premiership clash against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

"Rest" Keary. :astonished:

Damn that sounds condescending.

Ivan needs to nail this tweet to the dressing room door with the word REST highlighted on game day to rev the boys up.

Don't mind the side and I am hoping that both Brookes and our pack can both lift to the occasion. I reckon that we are only one play maker short before we can reasonably target the top four.

As for out team selections - it seems pretty obvious and transparent after watching all the videos and interviews of Ivan, that he has put a lot of thought and science into his selections. He has alluded to "more questions than answers" relating to the team but has made his choices on effort and form to date. He's made it clear that effort will be rewarded and that all 30 players are part of a squad that will all play their part in the success of the team over the duration of a long season. Best of luck to every player!!

Very good post. Agree. Cleary needs more data to answer his questions. Performance over time will give him that.

He then has $1m to spend to resolve issues. We need to accept that it will take time. Frustrating or not, we are all but starting again this year.

The Dragons tonight have shown what a CLASSY spine can do behind a quality pack.

Yeah found myself envious of Widdop & Hunt…they were pretty good from the get go, wait until they really learn each others game

Widdop was the star, he threw some bullet cutout passes that lead to trys

Yeah, he is a five eighth through and through, that shines with a genuine half alongside.

Agreed. They wouldnt 'rest' him if it was the storm. He would be unavailable.

Jeez that does annoy me. Hope our forwards give it to them tomorrow.

Got a text earlier from a mate who is with the club and is usually on the money, that was literally all he told me, sorry i dont have any more for yous gents.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but

Josh Reynolds out
Benji Starting

Don't really see it as a bad thing, Benji/Brooks is a much more natural halves pairing and Reynolds will give more impact of the bench than what Benj would. The rotation in particular will be interesting in itself as to what Cleary does, but he seemed pretty confident when he said he had a plan in the Friday presser.
