WESTS Tigers Team V St George

I really hope Jnr Tatola gets names 17th man. A big body, a hard runner close to the line. So our bench is: Grant; Sue; Ballin, Tatola.

** However if Clearly is named coach tomorrow or Friday, can he change the team up ??

It would be so nice to be Chris Lawrence. To know that every week your position in the starting lineup would be safe regardless of your individual performance. What a life.

Or Naiqama  , Seriously crap side but not much to choose from really….we suck all 3 grades .

Brooks is missing :wahoo: sign with the Bulldogs or Mounties while your at it .

Lawrence was one of our best on the weekend, horrible the week before but he earned his spot. Brooks was never considered because of injury but I'd still take him over JLJ, got a feeling Moses will struggle being the only half.

I'd take Brooks over Moses

Same, I'd go all in on a Brooks-Widdop combination for next year. We'll likely get priced out of Moses and I think Widdop would be an upgrade and be cheaper in the first place. Throw in Whare and a decent prop (Brenton Lawrence, Evans, Matulino) and we look a lot better.

I've probably lost my mind but I think a Widdop-Johnson halves combo would work well. Johnson was pretty awesome when playing for Cleary previously.

I'd love to agree with you but I think after Bunji I've been scared of players like him and Johnson (perhaps explaining my trepidation about Moses). If the numbers around Moses are right then we might be able to pinch Johnson without being too far out of pocket, but I'd be surprised if the Warriors let him walk when he hasn't even played a game with Foran yet. I'd rather go Widdop and use the Moses/Johnson money on Whare and a big bopper, but that said, when was the last time the Tigers had an international-experience halves pairing?

I'm scared too and Johnson is rocks and diamonds. However, playing with someone like Widdop might suit his style (like Prince's style suited Marshall). And Cleary definitely got the most out of him..

All this talk about halves Keiran Foran would be the top of my list for next year and patner him with any of Widdop,Brooks evem Josh Reynolds and we will make the finals and prob still get him cheaper then Moses

Dont recall Brooks and Moses playing well in the same game, its always seems neither play well, or one of them play well, usually Moses. Do recall both players playing well when the other has been out of the team though, plus our defence automatically improves. Maybe Moses will have a decent game this weekend and the Tigers will be half decent defensively… Tigers might jag a win, then again Dragons might put 50 on us... Not a good betting match for punting enthusiasts...

I agree with Willow wish we'd drop Naiqama. Getting real sick of him trying to knock the ball out instead of tackling. Did anyone see on Sunday when addo Carr made a half break and Naiqama could have easily tackled from behind instead he leaped and tried to punch the ball out from behind, pretty much mounted his back clean missed the ball and thudded into the ground…he was nearly away after that too luckily teddy cleaned him up

Yeah commented on that in the live game thread

I think Woods got him though

Naiqama needs to be replaced asap but I'm not sure Chee Kam is the answer either , he has missed his fair share of tackles this season

Why not Suli? We have guys like Justin hunt that can do a decent job on the wing for us

I agree , its his favoured position

Yep good idea. Suli at centre is a much better option than Kev is now and I've been calling for Justin Hunt to be selected on the wing since the start of the year! He's a great goal kicker too if Moses starts to stuff up. I don't know why they keep ignoring the bleeding obvious?

Oh man Flippedy I agree with u 100%. Hunt on the wing and Suli at centre (his preferred position) should be a lock. I rewatched the Storm-Tigers game a few days ago (partially to see if I could spot myself on the hill) and the amount of tackles Naqama either missed or was caught completely out of position was ridiculous. Every break they made I'd rewind it and almost every time Naqama was involved. He just doesn't seem to have a grasp of the fundamentals, he plays like someone who is just learning the game, not a professional rugby league player. He strikes me as someone more concerned with getting flashy tattoos and a schnazzy haircut than actually studying his opponent and perfecting his technique. He's all image, no dedication.

Yeah it's an unfortunate situation with Kev eh? I'm sure he was a better player when he first came to us, but he seems to be getting worse and worse with each passing game. Like you said, he must be too consumed with looks and fashion at the expense of improving his footy and the team just can't keep carrying that.

No idea why they keep naming Justin Hunt in the 21 when Michael Chee Kam is the perfect utility. Especially considering the loophole in the new 21-man squad where if a player is injured (Matt Ballin last week) you can bring in another player outside of the 21 (Jacob Liddle)

I'm really not much of a fan of Justin Hunt. From what I saw in the Bulldogs game last year he is quite a lazy defender. Specifically that tackle on Moses Mbye. In attack he runs at the opposition a million miles an hour but doesn't seem to make much impact.

Im not sure if anyone agrees with me but i liked ET coming off the Bench last week
The extra ball player and he didnt get burnt out making tackle after tackle ..

I liked it. Quality over quantity. Will be interesting to see what Cleary does with him. In all of ET's time under Cleary at the Warriors and Penrith he played in the back row.
