Hear hear. Reminds me of the John Grant hype.

Except John Grant looked bog average in Reggies.

Gamble looks too good for reggies.

GNR has a massive negative opinion of the guy.

Look forward to the excuses once he makes it.

John Grant, Tom Humble, he keeps adding to it

Not surprising he rated our previous coach very highly, me I have rated Gamble for quite some time.
He would not be out of place in first grade, he could easily take Brooks spot

Already looks better than Brooks. I'm a bit over Brooks tbh, waiting…waiting for him to actually turn into a decent halfback. He's had near 100 NRL games to prove his worth - still yet to see anything consistently good about his game. If it hasn't come by now, I'm not sure it ever will.

Yet he has never been dropped - 3 coaches now have given him all the time in the world to develop and fire, but we're still all waiting, waiting, waiting. He just doesn't talk on the field or try to organise his team. Halfbacks are supposed to talk and demand the ball, dammit! Surely this season it must be time for him to shape up or ship out.

#FakeNews. You can't drop the BEAST. It's just not possible.

Agree …
MCK won us the last game in the last 5 mins with decisive off loads

I rate Josh , but it should be Lawrence that gets punted ....done nothing now for 7 years

You and I have been over this. I don’t but into hype. Lord knows we’ve been down that road a dozen times. Somehow you take that as I don’t rate him, and even worse, want him to fail 😕

Yeah nah you have plenty of posts about him, its all negative and related to him being overhyped. Then when you are called on it you tell us you need to see more but then when he kills it in reserves you say you didnt watch. (highlights and replays are freely available)

Point is if your not bothered looking at him and havent really seen him play your opinion about him being over hyped is not worth anything.

Youve now compared him to Tom Humble and John Grant.

Thats an opinion.

As i said i look forward to the excuses.

I just don’t understand why you feel so affronted. Do you have a personal relationship with him? Honest question, I don’t mean that as a dig. It’s just the only logical reason why you seem to take it so personally that I have not showed any enthusiasm about him. I mean, you remembered something I said about him 6 months ago. I don’t even remember the Tom Humble quote (not denying I said it, just don’t remember it). As I said, not a dig, but why are you taking what I say about the kid to heart so much? Help me understand.

I think Grant might play. Makes no coaching sense to have him sit out two weeks in a row.

All the props playing are better than him, so it would also make no coaching sense to give him a run unless there's an injury. He could drop McIlwrick or Godinet but it doesn't seem like he wants ET at hooker, which means Eisenhuth at prop, which means no room for Grant.

Would be nice to have an 80 minute hooker

There aren’t many clubs that do.

I don't think we need an 80 minute hooker necessarily, but I would much rather see us play with only one specialist hooker at 55-60 minutes with the rest picked up by Taylor (in the same way the Knights will use Buhrer). Any relatively small forward playing NRL should skill up for hooker.

That said, didn't the Broncs look much better tonight with McCullough toughing it out rather that Thaiday having a crack at dummy half.

Hooker is the least of our worries imo. I know it was only round one last week, but our attack doesn’t look very threatening. And the try we did score only occurred because it came off MCK’s head. Tui had no plan, he just turned and passed.

Yeah they did but Sam Thaiday is not a small forward and he has clearly never skilled up based on his performance last week. McCullough is a marathon man too - a genuine 80 minute player rather than a guy that is just playing out the 80 minutes. That said if someone like McCullough gets injured you are going to need to replace him, so you need someone else capable of playing hooker somewhere in your 17.

Certainly looked like Tui threw a cutout pass and MCK('s head) got in the way to me.

The pass didn’t look like it was going anywhere. Got lucky on that one.

Talent wise i agree with you. Just find it odd that in a squad with the depth we now have that you would have one guy would sit out two weeks in a row.

As good as Lawrence has been for the club he must be under pressure. He just has not been a threat for awhile now.. alot to do with injuries not effort. I hope he can prove me wrong. If he falls our of the 17 it might be tough for him to get back in and I expect McQueen to start putting some big efforts in at reggies.

Maybe Benji and him can turn back the clock it will just be at a lower speed.

I don’t think he’s under any more pressure than most other players. It’s obvious Cleary has a high opinion of him, making him one of the captains.
