Not sure if it was discussed in the live game thread last week.

But Mbye took the penalty conversion at 10 - 4 in the 1st half and failed to put the ball dead.
Lucky the kick went through the middle otherwsise the Parra player would have caught it and ran back in play. Lack of thinking on Mybe's part. He doesn't seem like a natural kicker, his striking action when connecting with the ball seems to be pulled at times (stabs) and follows through other times.

I hope Doueihi is given the kicking duty for the rest of the year as he has a natural strike. Only way to build confidence in him is to give him the duty week in week out.

Worst technique/strike I've seen in the top grade. It's like a dodgy golf swing that needs a complete re-build. Bad fundamentals...

Anyone know if we have an official kicking coach on the staff?

Best one I saw was Sticky Ricky. Came to my school each year for a couple sessions during pre-season. Knows his stuff

Hodgo is on the coaching staff.

We also had Jason Taylor and Ivan Cleary.
Seems nothing helps.

Yeah like I said we haven’t had a natural goal kicker at the club for forever just guys they are trying to teach. Hopefully we can get one for next season sick of kicking 60% of our goals

I can’t work out why it hasn’t been a priority. I would have thought someone like Madge would have had it as a main issue to address following last years kicking issues. But we’re still here in the same position. I hope it’s something we’re targeting for next year.

I can’t work out why it hasn’t been a priority. I would have thought someone like Madge would have had it as a main issue to address following last years kicking issues. But we’re still here in the same position. I hope it’s something we’re targeting for next year.

Yeah it’s a strange one. Just seems like it didn’t line up, we needed a fullback and the one who could kick goals went to Souths. We needed forwards and they don’t kick goals either. Hopefully now we are targeting Outside backs and spine players it means we are a better chance of finding one that can kick goals because we didn’t really find that last year

I do hope that wests tigers put in a very strong 80 minute effort, take control of the game, have good managment and able to secure a win, otherwise it will be another embarassing result ( like titans game) :disappointed: :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Benji was starting to miss a lot of easy kicks. Started the year well but was getting worse.

Madge gave Twal another massive rap in his press conference yesterday. Said he loves coaching him, thinks he’s a terrific player and that he’s turned into a real leader of our club

Can’t wait to see the big fella back out there, one of my favourite players for sure 👍🏻

You really think that would be a consideration for Madge?

The occasion and the emotion influenced why he picked Robbie in the final round last year, he pretty much admitted that with regret (was my take on it). Hopefully he learnt from that, mistakes happen, and not pick Chris out of obligation. Chris will likely get his 250, when someone else gets injured/HIA.

Momirovski kicked < 70% last year (combined isp and nrl). He's not the answer to our kicking problems.

That game with Farah was awful, it was clear he was only about 50% but we know the majority of fans would’ve called for madges head if he didn’t play unfortunately
