We’ve had a heap of great goal kickers in the coaching staff over the years. Taylor, Cleary, Richards and Hodgson but we still struggle. Clearly we don’t have a natural kicker and are trying to teach it on the fly with these guys

I don't think it is a coaching issue, rather a recruitment one.

Yeah like I said we haven’t had a natural goal kicker at the club for forever just guys they are trying to teach. Hopefully we can get one for next season sick of kicking 60% of our goals

Wasn’t Benji kicking at 74%. I suppose you can’t have a kicker or captain who plays reserve or sits on the pine? I think we traded our best kicker for a dally m hooker.

The problem is Benji and AD both have leg issues at the moment.

Hence, we have a kicker that wouldn't kick a hole in a wet paper bag.

Don't think there is anyone else in the 17 unfortunately.

Madge gave Twal another massive rap in his press conference yesterday. Said he loves coaching him, thinks he’s a terrific player and that he’s turned into a real leader of our club

Can’t wait to see the big fella back out there, one of my favourite players for sure 👍🏻

Then again, he thinks Mbye is a real leader and captain.

Momirovski kicked < 70% last year (combined isp and nrl). He's not the answer to our kicking problems.

He may well be the only the answer we have Avo.

That is if he isn't at the Storm again next year.

He's no better than Mbye. Personally i'd give Doueihi a go and really target a kicker for next year.

Captain is more than on field stuff. Don’t forget he essentially demoted Mbye from captain to co-captain. Our culture is changing and Mbye is one of our captains and helping make that change so I’m not gonna doubt Madge in that regard

I'll say it again, Benji should be kicking from the left and Mbye the right.

Or Doueihi

Fox Sports late mail has Asu Kepaoa named in reserves instead of Jennings. But NRL site has Jennings. Maybe just a typo from fox sports or do they know something we don’t ?https://apple.news/AYydurT8nQuayYQYQ6QJolQ

I hope it’s true

He needs to earn a position just like all the players, Blore waited for weeks and was ready last game and then did more minutes than expected and took on Brown as he knew his teammates had his back.
I am sure he will get a run after a few weeks of gelling within the team depending upon injury or form of others.

Dont care if it is Asu or Jennings but one should go on the wing and push Talau into centres and Lawrence to bench

Well i think next week BJ will come back into the side.
Both Marshall & Lawrence play there 249th game for the club tonight.
Maybe an interesting Ploy against the Knights that Benji plays in his 250th to inspire the team, Rest Lawrence and bring him back the following week in his 250th to inspire them again.(Just an observation)

Lawrence does not have the ability to put his wingers away & is too slow he should be in the forwards.

Agree but he has been our best option with BJ out, things will change next week and i am not that worried about the opposition tonight.
Like to see him play his 250 games for the Club this season and retire.
Great loyal one club player let's not forget about that culture within a team.

Would love to see Twal, Packer and Grant in the side consistently. When Twal went down injured, I immediately thought our finals hopes were dashed. Fortunately his injury wasn’t too serious. Looking forward to see him rip in tonight.

Sure he did start off missing a few, but he has plenty of upside. Plenty of improvement in him. imo

Lets hope the boys are worried about the opposition tonight we have had a tendency to overlook the teams below us in the past only to be embarrassed. Having said that our pack looks stronger with Twal and Mikaele in doesn't it. Really hope Blore rips in tonight.

I think it is important for all of the players and stranding a player on 248 games would not improve the loyalty and drive of the team. Playing him for the last 20 min at lock against Warriors and Bulldogs is a good compromise.

Being a coach is about creating a roster and educating players, but a huge part is motivating the team.

Nah sorry wouldn’t even come into it. It’s about winning and they only way to do that is to put the best team available on the field, nothing else matters. That’s the way you build a winning culture.

Our club definitely takes that stuff into consideration. Madge named Farah in the team final round last year when he had a broken leg. They’ll make sure Lawrence gets his 250th game even if everyone’s fit.

With Farah having a broken leg we played Cronulla in the last round and lost this match which resulted in the club missing the semi finals.

We were never in this game, it never cost us anything, losing to weaker opposition during the season is what cost us, that's our real issue.

In the end Farah sat on the bench until the result was all but over, joining the fray with less than half an hour to go and Cronulla up 24-4.

I liked the fact that Farah was given a late call up however think you should check your facts prior. Culture within a club makes you continually improve and showing loyalty is one of those assets, Cheers.

Reynolds McQueen drop off reserves

Is it a becoming a pattern that Madge punishes those suspended for an additional week?
We all know Packer would have been handy against the Panthers but yet he played Clark instead...
Do we expect that Joey will be back next week?

Yes expecting BJ back next week, good observation might need to give us some examples of these facts. Reynolds was'nt going to be in the Team this week.
I don't think it also was the fact that he made an unintended strike for the ball and collected a player instead, if you look at the game he carried on a running battle with Mitchell and did not follow the game plan.
I think if Madge could off load him he would have already but can't.
I see him more as a member of the current squad but in reality a Bulldog player is what he will be remembered for, it was another dud signing.
