Wests Tigers Team

Thanks guys for your replies… Re: Collis being named as 18.

I Like Smegs reasoning, and as I have said, I love Collis and its not a personal thing but i was just confused from a team perspective and the reason I havent questioned Morris's Selection in regard that he has also signed elsewhere next year -- it's simple, he's more of a utility and should have been there from the start of the season really, and he hasnt come back from injury and jumped straight into squad whereas as far as Im aware Collis is essentially a Centre or winger.. That was the main thing, I'd even understand if Collis came straight in for Ayshford once fit, it just seemed weird thats he's 18, You'd expect him to start or not play at all.

And from when he got injured those that have taken his place have offered as much as he was maybe even more so thats why it seemed strange, But Yes if someone is struggling a little ie Lawrence then that makes it all understandable and on top of that as Smeg said.. if we can keep the likes of Shirnack and Hanbury playing regular footy for BRET then if they are called on they'll be ready.

As expected. Good, solid team.

Tigers 13+

mate this game has the potential to be the hardest of the yr. it will be easy for the boys to underestimate the roosters, just like we are sayin 13plus.
just the 2 points please…

I agree, the game still has to be won.
if roosters had no chance they would not turn up and forfeit already
defend well like have been over past couple of games.
don't get too cocky otherwise it will be a lost game that ends the chance of making the finals

Curiously, who did end up being the 18th man for first grade? Because the last few weeks Collis has been named, he has played State Cup.

Big mistake not making any changes. Last night's game clearly showed the team has big flaws in it.

The Blackall Yakuza may have been joking with this post but I thinks it's spot on. Shutting up shop and protecting a lead from half time is not on. The Dragqueens or Dogs would have run riot over us. We need to put in a full 80 or we won't get past the Chooks let alone the Titans and Dogs.

Schirnack and Mataka both warmed up as shadows for the two returning players I believe.

It is allowable for them to do so under the rules even though they had already played that weekend and would have been able to come in if a last minute injury had occured

I totally agree. However I still think we'll win by 13+, just like I said 13+ vs Cowboys, 13+ vs Raiders and 1-12 vs Manly… I gotta keep the streak going! I should have put money on those last results! 😢

I'm sure Collis is continually named as 18th man because Lawrence has a niggling leg injury.

Came out with his left leg strapped last night, around the hammy/quad area.

Tigers still have a bit of improvement in them. They will look to play an up-tempo game as usual and target the Roosters big men around the ruck. This worked well for us in round 1 as the Tigers wore them down in the second half. Completions will once again be the key and I think Farah and Benji will assert themselves in attack a bit more this week.

Collis backed up as 18th man and warmed up before the game against Manly Monday night. But it makes sense to have a couple of forwards warm up also,we've been burnt before.

Yeh,…. 1\. Moltzen, 6\. Morris, 7\. Marshall is basically the same as 1\. Gallant, 6\. Marshall, 7\. Moltzen....basically. :unamused:

Umm….. I think the pigs stepping up has had more to do with it personally...but Yes your right ink..... The players are basically the same the positions have changed......See it is funny.....Took Sheens ages.....

Knock urself out.

Ok after some intense sniffing around and quizzing conducted by the Bug himself, 2 players pulled up very lame and might be in doubt. I do not know who they are (yet).

Im guessing Lawrence and Heighington.

I am on holidays again this week and I should have all the backyard chores done before the ballwaork session tomorrow so i'll try and duck down to see who will be involved in that.

Collis at 18th man is not surprising at all. Sheens has already shown his hand, sudden death football he has gone for all the experience he can get his hands on. Thats why he took the gamble with Rhino and Keff against Manly.

Injury in the backline Collis slots straight in, knows the plays and calls and if their is a injury in the forwards you can shuffle Asyford or lawrence into the forwards and of course Collis slots into the backline.

Of course all going well this week we will not need him, but a classy bit of insurance to have in the bank if you need him

Lawrence hasn't got over his injury and has been a trooper playing on one leg…...great game on Monday, but he should have a week or two's rest now, and put Collis in. Then hopefully Chris will be in better shape for the Parra game and beyond

He actually hit the afterburners in one of his line break attempts…. first time ive seen him stretch out in weeks.
