What does ANZ Stadium have to do with a training base?

Nothing at all.

However should the training base have a purpose built stadium fit for hosting 30k at NRL matches, it may be an opportunity lost if we are bound by an agreement with Stadium Australia.

My Thoughts

Neither Cambo for the Wests or Liechardt for Tigers Faction…..Works for me
New facilities....Works for me
Another region to focus building our organic fan base, This now to total 3.....Works for me
A council that actually wants us.....Works for me
Liverpool closer to Picnic point than Cambo and Liechardt..... Works for me
\
\
Works for me. Im happy for the club to proceed

Any potential stadium at this site is 10-15 years away, so it won't be an issue.

Lets not forget Mayer locked us in to a 10 year arrangement with ANZ stadium at Homebush. A decision I thought highly questionable at the time as it would hinder us from opportunities like this that may present itself. The new managment team may have to untwine this arrangement (as well as the salary cap debacle) before we can really see where we are heading and if we really can take advantage of a growth opportunity such as this.

There was nothing wrong with that arrangement. Unless someone leaves $50m in a briefcase out the front of Concord we need confirmed long term revenue streams like this to help us survive. I'd rather us play 10-12 games at ANZ at the moment, $1-1.2m a year that we don't currently have.

Jctiger, I'm not judging or blaming Campbelltown or its people. I'm just stating my opinion that it would be a good thing for our club to move to a new, improved training facility. I like the fact that the Centre of Excelence will be in neutral ground, and that our board is putting the club first and foremost.
This is something that's well overdue and i hope it happens sooner rather then later.

No dramas Tigermama,
My comment wasn't aimed at you, I fact I agree with what you said re; the neutral ground. I mean I was even kicked out of Wests Leagues at Campbelltown because my teenage boys were wearing Tigers jerseys on game night, so I hardly think they deserve to having thing to do with Wests Tigers.
My comments were aimed at Ink for labelling all the people from Campbelltown as welfare bludging whingers, when the only people to have commented on the story so far was politicians and a lawyer. Get sick of it after a while so someone has to bite.

He couldn't even wait for the welfare bludging whingers to start having a whinge

TT, I won't forget it.
My family and I went to the club on a Friday night to watch an away game and have a meal. We had done it several times before without any issues. This particular night we were refused entry. We were told that by wearing the jerseys we could incite trouble and therefore told to leave. I argued with the manager but to no avail( also told him politely he could take my members card as I have no use for it any more). We then went over to the Catholic club and had a good meal and watched the game.
I did get a call from the club a couple of days later apologising and was told the manager had their cut of times for entry wrong. Apparently you can't enter the club after 7.30 wearing a jersey. We were well before this time.
Having said that, even on game nights (away games) you are battling to get the games on the monitors as the club only pushes WT on home game days

I was describing the attitude of the people….you can still work and have this attitude.
It seems to be a common attitude from this region, imo...regarding WTs at least, cant comment on other issues as Ive no interest

Sorry Ink,
Don't want to drag this on too long, but I didn't realise you could work and also be on welfare.

Not from Sydney , assuming reading all this, a positive mood to cement our footing, and a chance to capitalise on a growing demographic.

perhaps just as a matter of interest, i was at the liverpool council meeting tonight ( i know, i know i need a life) and one of the presentations to council came from a former wests player who is affiliated to weststigers development squads etc. i wont say his name but he did say that the weststigers board are very disappointed and shocked by councils knocking back of their application to use a local footy field as a training and match venue for the weststigers development squads. not too sure of the reasons why liverpool council knocked them back but the tigers rep did mention that the weststigers board may need to look at other options and areas for these develpoment squads.
this raises a critical point, does the mayor of liverpool really give two hoots about weststigers relocating to liverpool area or is he really just spinning bs (as usual).

ps; i had no idea this was on the council agenda as i was there supporting those certain staff of liverpool council who are fighting to save their jobs from mayoral inspired outsourcing.

Was there any mention of the Dome being demolished?

yes there was a lot said about the music shell ( which doubled as a shelter for homeless people). there were seniors who addressed council and made their feelings known to much applause from the public gallery. even though the shell was demolished the other day there was a motion put forward and carried that the proposed demo works of the bowling club ( which were imminent) be put on hold until further investigation.

forgot to mention also that the old bowling club due to be demolished has been used up until very recently as a temporary premises for the salvo's
