I know Manly were near full strength for the first time in a while and that they have possibly the best player in the world in their side, so it would've always required a great effort from us to win that.
But the whole Wests Tigers poor depth and defence is really starting to bug me, as I no longer really care for why we can't be competitive.
Yes it was a totally different game but in 2018 we'd beaten Roosters, Storm and Eels in our first month of footy. These teams had Cam Smith & Billy Slater and Tedesco, Latrell & Cronk. Up against the likes of Tui Lolohea, Pita Godinet, not sure if it was Marsters or Naiqama and then Brooks - in his most stellar year.
We'd had Eisenhuth, Rochow and Elijah Taylor up against Taukeiaho, JWH, NAS, Bromwich, Finucane and Nathan Brown. Two of those teams met in the Grand final, however we were good enough to put it over both of them and had won these games through our defensive effort.

Does my head in to think we've gone backwards and still have the same problem, as last year, with our defence. Feel super annoyed there's been little adjustments made in this area and don't care for the reasons behind it. It's almost funny to me that the Wests Tigers won with a team which consisted of the players it did and that Pita Godinet matched it with a potential future immortal.

It’s not going backwards loz. It’s that that team , was filled with professional journeymen . And I mean that as both a compliment and an insult .
We were winning 18-6 or 16-14 . But if they were off just a tad then it was a hammering , with no chance at all at coming back.
This team is filled with guys who are infinitely more talented but extremely inconsistent .
I’m hoping that the reserve grade form is a true sign of what is coming through , and that this is unfortunately a bridge year .

They were both pitiful, can’t believe we didn’t want to do the swap Jac for TT. Honestly think he gets a jersey courtesy of his last name. As for Pauga time to send him back to where he came from 14 missed tackles that’s atrocious.

The forward passes are just so random…almost every single long cut out pass that leads to tries go meters forward !

How come all the forum supporters can see the team issues yet management don’t.
Tonight we fielded the worst centre pairing in the competition just an embarrassment with a record missed tackles plus errors galore as usual every game by TT. Our back row are poor defenders.


I'm sure they see it, the issue is lack of depth - we simply don't have two class centres or back rowers to substitute.

If today's game demonstrates anything, it's you can't throw in a couple of young guys from reserve grade and expect them to perform like first graders. Next week will be worse due to the injuries to Garner and Seyfarth. Hopefully Twal is fit.

And yet the forum members who seem to know better than Madge and co ,scream to let the koe cup guys get a run in the top side...tonight is a perfect example of what happens when you rely on the inexperienced to win you games...Cini was another fine example of let the ressies have a run...

Fair point… but why do other teams get newbies in that go well… bloody Melbourne get new guys in and they kill it.

Pauga made him look like Meninga.

That was the scariest bit...Harper is bottom 3 worst centers in the comp.

And he looked like an immortal against Pauga.

Pauga honestly may be the worst defensive back I have ever seen. He is so bad they even gave up attacking Nofa's wing...and went at him.

Nasty injury mechanism for Alex Seyfarth, with tackler contacting outside of knee causing it to collapse in. Early indication from the Tigers is at least a significant MCL injury, would match mechanism. ACL can be at risk in these cases too, hopefully avoided here

Well that’s rather upsetting. He was coming along nicely.

Aloia i.m.o would of been and should of been sent for it but it’s only head highs that get consideration for that.. the refs should be allowed to make their own judgements but that’s how it is now.

I've never seen a backline so incompotent at using numbers to attack an opposition defence

I reckon we had at least 7/8 chances if the ball carrier simply straightens and draws his man

Tommy ...have a chat to your old man about it

And our D .....if we stay on the front foot .....Tommy can't do anything ...you crush the sucker from inside out and tell him to get used to it

Manly are a good side ...I get it ...but we let them off the hook so often tonight .......RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Too many cut out passes that the defence read, instead of using the numerical advantage and getting the them static.
Oh well...we put 20+ on them...if only we could defend...?

It's an Under 14 skill ...catch ...draw and pass

Another young skill ...the minute you see a receiver like Turbo stop watching the line to watch the ball ...you crunch him ......at the very least you force him inside to get cleaned up by your forwards

DCE try .....instead of Laurie hitting his legs ...you hit him just above the hip to give the defender going high that extra split millisecond .......

Why can't our coaching staff teach this stuff ....or more to the point ...why can't out blokes make these calls ...it should be 2nd nature .....

Why the hell don't these blokes know this stuff ......

Do they actually train ? What the hell do they do every week ? Is there a more L plater team out there ? !! Disjointed mess. I’m really getting angry at myself for caring at this point, wish I could change allegiance somehow.

Surely you have to have a bit of footy nous...most of the players don't have that..you have to look several plays ahead, and a lot of the better teams have players in the team that can do that, sadly we don't.!
