I honestly don't know how our "recruitment guru" Hartigan has come up with BJ, JTJ, keep Talau and Pauga as his centers. There are far better players in state cup than all of them.

Pauga has been missing badly on D even in that grade.

He is miles from being the best center in state cup.

Anyone who watched the game last week identified that Pagua would struggle against Manly. They are a superior squad to ours, and also most of the other teams in the bottom half of the competition. At full strength only an off day was going to give us any chance of being close to beating them

im saying that centre is a hard position to defend as. its up to the def coach to help pauga with taht defense...his job gets made harder when his inside men dont help him out either.....thats just my opinion anyway

I am just puzzled why Hoffman was not given a chance also. Or Cini. Both have been dev players for a long time and yet we have basically said "neither of you are ahead of a 25 yo QLD cup player who can't tackle'.

14 missed tackles is astonishing and he just is not big enough.

Hoffman at least deserves a shot. Maybe he is slower, but he is not 'that' slow that you pass him by to pick a QLD cup player who can't tackle.

Madge seems to have his ideas set in stone. Billy Walters was absolutely terrible in state cup a while back, yet promoted to NRL also. And then completely butchered defense and offense.

It is like McGuire has his select group and the rest on the outer.

Gotta say I wasn't sitting there feeling like they didn't care and weren't trying like some other games - they had a go, they just simply weren't good enough, especially in defence of course.

Both he and Laurie are having to do a lot of cover work in defence, so not sure whar the issue is.

Thought we failed with our opportunity in controlling momentum when Talau lost the ball. Felt it was silly to keep going right during those 3 sets and we'd simply kept showing our hand too early.

I don’t know why we don’t just go up the guts with a rampaging uto ! Or angled runs back against the grain… just to much side to bloody side.

Yes, they're not creating the space first. It leaves Nofo waiting for the ball to arrive and has no option but to just come back inside where he's a sitting duck. AD has to be more selective in its use.

How hard is it to do a couple of hard runs and drag in defenders and THEN !!! spread it… our team have a very low IQ

Its very simple if you know the game...line speed in defense and put the ballcarrier down when tackling.I still cant understand 4 players tackling a player and he still gets an offload away...

in attack....support.support.support,.back up your player at all times,surely someone in this team can make the right calls,their being paid enough...
