Statistics, 100% of people know statistics can be twisted to whatever you want. Although only 50% of people believe that.

You can argue Noffa made a bad read, but he made up for that with two tries, some strong runs and some good offloads. Plus him and BJ playing together is mouth watering. Got a good taste of it today.

Noffa you know what we will get 1 bad read a game mixed with hard runs, offloads and he can finish.

Issue is his bad reads are all the same panic runs where he misses everything and is almost center a try, where if he held back and gave his defensive line time to slide we stand a better chance

Wingers are coached to support their inside men(usually centre) if they run in.Today was mainly Nofos fault but quite often it isnt but he is the one who gets all the blame on here

I understand that, the issue is he makes the same type of mistake regardless who he is next too. Part of that sits with him. I have defended noffa before but his defense if his weakness something which he hasn’t really shown improvements with.

Firstly I like Brooks. But he doesn't have the tenacity to want the ball enough when the game is on the line.
To all those who say benji is impeding him are wrong. Before benji people said farah. He's had games without either and not pushed hard. Next it will be liddle or new 5/8 impeding him. Poor excuse imo

On one side you have Benji and the two Leilua brothers...think I’d be sending it In that direction at least 70% of the time.

Hopefully, that's what the opposition coaches believe, cos that opens up the Left Edge for Brooks, Garner and (Insert Left Centre option here).

Let the Leiluas do their thing then swing it left and get Garner one on one with the opposition halfback. Sounds like a good gameplan to me.

Was a really ugly game, pedestrian pace, disorganised backlines and not much to observe except effort was decent and forwards ran and tackled. Douehli looked good physically and has good ball skills but I doubt he'll provide much threat, doesn't have the extra bit of pace needed. But he's strong returning the ball, and I prefer him to Thompson (and I really like Thompson). JL was really good, has great acceleration and size and already makes nofo look better. Much preferred Walters to Reynolds at hooker, don't trust Reynolds there. I like thompson on the wing, I still have yet to see Jennings do something.

Tigers halves seem to be rushing the attacking players early in the sets, looks like a new defensive ploy, generally defensive line speed was good. Nofo had a terrible misread on the warriors try, it was classic Nofo, don't care if there was an overlap or not, he was totally out of position. Tigers pack looked able to match the warriors physically and were able to control the game, I think that's an improvement from last year.

If I'd guess our season on this match i'd guess we'd finish about 10th and not be able to beat good teams. we just don't really have any attacking threat beside JL and he'll probably get frustrated and make errors. But it's always important to completely ignore trial form so it's still fun to be optimistic.

What a load of bollocks. Great win.

So I missed the game as I was working on my house all weekend.

The thread is a mile long and I don't have time to read through it.

Who were the standouts, and who were off the boil?

How did Walters and Reynolds go?

yup geo and the others did preety good summaries of it

another note...... **the commentators were terrible as per usual in NZ**...and the penalty count was stupid, really stupid

I see this quite often...why were they terrible? they are paid by NZ Sky for an NZ audience. Why do they have to be neutral? I actually kind of like when the bias is against my team.

Ignorance.

Simple folk over there mate. Prefer that to my commentators being bound n gagged on what they can or cannot say here in Sydney.

Gaz goes alright. So does Warren Smith.

While he isnt quite ready for the call up i really like Seyfarth.

To me this guy can be our Paul Gallen. Massive motor and great body position on impact. Ball skills as well.

Dont get how some people cant see the potential of this guy.

Would rather have Momirovski there anyway he can kick goals

Last year he kicked at a lower percentage than Mbye. Mbye’s 2018 kicking percentage was also higher.

New year, new stats Avo.

I was just merely pointing out that since 2018 Mbye is statistically our best kicker.

See how he goes from the grandstand - what a kick, give him 8 points from there .... Sorry, comes from listening to the crap Voss dished out on the weekend.

Haha still better than Halligan’s commentary. Talk about painful!

If he or any winger dosent go in to support his inside player they dont stay in first grade for very long as i said they are coached to do it.

Why Liam Fulton and John Skandallis don't do every NRL game after their magnificent calls in one of our trials is a mystery ...swing to the sideline eye of Bryce Gibbs ,and Rhino and I could tick another thing off my bucket list

Much better attack in the second half, Brooks came good when Benji went off, don’t know what to make of that.
BJ is a weapon, we have been looking for a player like him for a while now.
Nofa got two tries, Jennings had some good carries and Cory was solid, one will miss out in round 1.
Our forwards and defence were really good, good signs for the season proper.

I so look forward to the day Marshall is out of this team. He's stifled Brooks ever since his return. Reynolds at 6 is a far better option imo. Good to see the forwards do what they did yesterday. Solid and confident. Nofos defence is never gonna improve obviously, so it wouldn't surprise me if he loses his spot it the not too distant future even given his obvious meter eating and offloading ability. Good on Lawrence for his stint. And Thommo....great work. I hope he can get first crack and make it count.

I said this in 2018, again last year that Benji does stifle Brooks game, and we should not re-sign him, I was lambasted

Certainly wont be a popular opinion but it is one i agree with

It was not meant as an attack on Benji, he has served the club well.
More the fact we have gone all in on Brooks, rightly or wrongly I am not sure, but we need to give him the best chance to succeed, and that is without Benji

Are you saying Benji over calls Brooks? Or the first reviewer block play? Because otherwise it's left and right , so they don't really link up .

I am saying Brooks lets Benji have whatever ball he wants, then he takes what’s left.
Brooks just doesn’t seem to have the personality to demand the ball, he may have a great footy brain, but it doesn’t show.
He deadset looks to scared to take charge when Benji is there, and that is on Brooks, he has had 130 games now.
But when Benji is not there Brooks looks a lot better, maybe if we got a decent 6 nothing would change and they would run the show like Benji is doing now
