Bloke at the smash repairs today noticed I followed the Wests Tigers. Kept going on about he followed the Tigers are well. I said you mean the Wests Tigers, nah mate there is only one Tigers, the Balmain Tigers. I pointed out that the club was 21 years old and that he had been following the Wests Tigers longer than he had been following the Balmain Tigers. He changed the subject quickly....

I said this a while ago that I am now 42 which means the Wests Tigers have been around for half my life. Anyone younger than I am will have has the Wests Tigers for more than half their life.

In 4 years it will be anyone younger than 50. That to me says a lot about the direction our club should be heading.

42 .....you crap on like a 93 year old lol

That's just because I am a very wise soul, it becomes even more apparent when I am conversing with someone as immature as yourself. lol

Yeah sure ...when you don't understand what I have written you try and turn your hearing aid up

WT's for life ......we may have lost Wests /Balmain/Brisbane Wests in my case .....but hopefully our great grandkids will be WT's to the core ...or I'll haunt mine lol

I never understand what you have written.

Lucky Steve's a good mate and explains it all to you ....I can see a magpie at your window

Yeah lucky he understands gibberish.

He mentioned that after Day 1 at the cricket ..said he was going to get his Masters in Gibberish

I think it’s time we stopped looking at the past and who we were a generation ago and instead started looking forward.

Agreed 100%, I was saying the other day I recently turned 42, the Wests Tigers are 21. As of right now the Wests Tigers have been in my life for longer than the foundation clubs. For anyone younger than me that is the case.

Thats interesting in that this argument can also be used by those that are called dinosaurs on this forum. Take me for instance - i am 68 and followed Wests Magpies from age 8. 60 years of following rugby league - 39 of those years were following the Magpies and only 21 following WT. Maybe it puts a little perspective on why some find it harder to let go of the foundation clubs.

I am similar to you except from the Balmain side.I turn 68 in less than a month and like you i am a staunch WT supporter

There are supporters who still think Glebe or North Sydney should return to the competition. I think people should believe in whatever they want, direct their loyalty to whichever club they choose based on their own experiences. For example, It would be hard for a kid not to grow up supporting Balmain if his dad was a club legend.
Has anyone watched the movie “Broke” a story about a North Sydney Bears legend “Kelly”, who, following career ending injury, has fallen on hard times and the people in his community who go to extraordinary lengths to help him recover some dignity. The crunch line in my opinion, which was subtly delivered by Kelly’s would be saviour, “ I’m gonna back you, Terry Lamb style.”
Follow your heart I say. 👍

Balmain fan for 30 years, transpired into a Wests Tigers fan since. No changing that. And I actually discovered a greater respect for Wests Magpies (everyone respected them anyway) since the merger because I like to see what others see. Watching old clips and interviews, and hearing stories, how could you not love the old magpies?

WT are my team.

I will support both Balmain and Wests in lower grades and junior reps whenever they play. And when they play each other, I'm a guaranteed winner!

Anyone see Souths and Macarthur FC have formed a partnership in south West Sydney it looks mainly like access for members to attend certain games etc and souths cares
