What can we do to help?

BTW I'm a member (and corporate sponsor) at Ocean Shores Golf Club…..its a great course if anyone is up this way I can get you on for a hit.

We play there every now and then with work functions , my problem is i find that course to easy i get around that cause 3 under Par :roll :mrgreen:

I wish :laughing: not an easy course , i need flippers and a snorkel to get my balls :wink:

TT its more an idea of how we can mobilise the supporter base in our area. There are plenty of club run functions in Sydney and you are best off supporting those.

We just want to help the club by mobilising support in the area for games on the GC and in Brissy. I don't think the club really understands how much support it has in regional areas. If we can't start to have some worthwhile functions and create some local networks we can build support in the area.

So I take it I'm not invited up to your part of the world….you are to mine anytime you would like to come....

We are obviously all passionate Tiger's supporters who boasts varying skills, networks and experiences. I am thinking, can we as forum members -rather than engaging in idle and generally uninformed gossip and commentary(but always interesting and informative) - do something tangible to help our club become a sustained powerhouse?

For example can we choose something that we think the club is not focussing adequately on (or ask the club areas if they need help). Maybe something like regional membership drives. I think the club underestimates how popular the club is. I for mine would love to develop a north coast group where we can congregate for games, use as fund raisers etc. we can hold the first at my restaurant where I will put on the food and we can watch the game.

Thoughts?

good on you larry. awesome to read about someone with such an assertive and positive attitude towards something theyre passionate about.

unfortunately for me i am bound by both geography and money. im in WA and currently out of my career job and so on the bones of my… :blush:

but i can just see myself sitting at one of those card tables surf lifesaving clubs, etc. have for raffles over here!

I don't mind a gold coast meet up - sure we can find a nice little watering hole to celebrate a victory/drown our sorrows - suits me perfectly, just as long as you lads are happy to make the drive up.

I am willing to help out in anyway shape or form , my problem is that i work on rotating shifts and ill be working this Weekend and don't finish work till 2:30 , We don't play till 4:00pm , let me know where we are meeting and i'll let the **Mrs know my plans** .

ha ha… definitely something i wouldve done! theres a very good chance it was me! what area were you in?

i was at whitford city shopping centre a week or so ago and there was an old guy being pushed in a wheelchair wearing a tigers shirt. i went up and shook his had and said "go tigers!".

Hampden rd in Nedlands, watched our finals run at the Windsor Hotel in South Perth. Flew with my best mate (a magpies supporter) to the GF and got tickets for my old man….best weekend ever.

My mate now runs Spotjobs which sponsors the Melb storm....i'm working on getting him to switch to the Tigers (they went with GWS).

When Eastern Suburbs Tigers buy the Wests Tigers, we will have a stronger representation in Qld and a ready made Leagues Club to meet at.

I know they have spoken to the NRL on a few occasions, but still struggle with the BS of the Sydney Clubs operating solely for the "glory of a premiership" to buy in and form a partnership.
