What can we do with Lodges $$$

Aparantly his deal with Penrith broke down so I highly doubt we would be spending money and playing Russian roulette hoping he would do something wrong or go to another club

Bring on halatau or gavet or both then I think we have made some great signing this year

If we up the ante to try to sign Tapau for an amount that he is not worth, the salary cap issues will start all over again, from what I have seen, he is not worth 1.1m for two seasons when he contributes 40 mins per game, good luck to whoever signs him on an overs contract.
Big Willie has no contract for 16, I would offer him minimal deal for one year, can't lose, he still had it this year

I think we should be giving Teddy a little 'kicker' after taking a paycut to stay here and after the season he has had. He certainly deserves it and showing a bit of loyalty always helps when contract negotiations come back around. Paying the big bucks for someone external doesn't set the tone we want.

Otherwise, we should be looking at a prop for sure. Someone good value, then shift contracts forward to provide a buffer for a run in 2017.

Set up some sort of foundation, to help players recognise, and work their way through these type of problems.
It would be the best money spent.

Noble idea. But we are talking $ cap, not $ cash.

Nothing… Its all going to Robbie...

I personally don't see this as a bad thing.

It is clear that the team lifts when Robbie is on the field. We are rudderless without Robbie and I don't think anyone else has the experience to captain the side with him gone (Woods is getting there but he's still young).

I believe that Robbie's form this year was down because he was purposefully being told to play a style that would drop his form and make it easier for him to be pushed out. If Robbie is coached properly to play to his strengths for 80 minutes we will see a HUGE difference to our performances in 2016.

If Lodge's money helps us keep Farah then I'm happy

Chances of farah regularly playing 80 mins a week next season? Extremely remote, au least with us. 60 mins max. His contract is already accounted for in the cap, how would lodge impact this? The mind boggles…!
If we're lucky (and assertive) we might be able to get a panther or two very cheap. Not sure who we'd really want. Wallace for a 50k backup half? Mckendry?

McKendry would be useful. Wallace will likely be on the outer with Griffin coming in. He wouldn't take peanuts to play NSW cup though. We've nailed our colours to the mast with Brooks and Moses.

I'm not sure the Tigers would be 'wise' spending on players with little to prove, like Mason.

You want this team to be hungry to play, and play aggressively, not cash in on one final pay cheque…

I'd be looking at guys that are bench players at other clubs, or stuck in the 2nd's behind entrenched guys- but young enough to invest time into.

You know, like when they signed Taupau from Canterbury.

Which describes every single one of our signings thus far.

Docker retires due to knee injury

This is insane. The amount of players retiring young due to repeated injury now seems really prevalent, moreso than it ever was.

Maybe I am just paying more attention than I used to, but it does seem as though more kids are retiring than there ever were.
