What did we get in return?

We would have if he had a heart the size of ET's instead of the size of an ant. ET still played his heart out for panthers in reserve grade and never considered do anything less. An opportunity came up to play NRL at WT and the 2 clubs worked out a deal. Totally different scenario to Moses

I agree on your summation on the two players. But wouldn't that have given Penrith some bargaining power and us none?

Yes but Gould did what was best for the player without playing silly little games. MM and uncle slime caused their own problems

And we didn't want to play silly buggers either.

No we didn't our new coach is better than that and our awesome club will be even better for having a coach with balls. Hope IC hangs around for a long time and gets the success him and the club deserves

bugger all
i would have dropped him to reggies for sure for the rest of the season

that would have messed him up unlike what uncle thinks

Why would you inflict him on reggies? He would simply stuff up their season. I don't think the club had any choice. He had to go.

We ended up getting cap space, a bit of calmness and a brighter future.
Parra got an overpaid prima donna with undoubted talent but questionable mental toughness

Can't wait to watch him play for the Eels this weekend. I envision him playing quite poorly, and him copping it from the fans. Exciting

Josh Papali has taken a liking to running at him during us conceding 150 pts against playing Canberra. Probably more of the same.

We received a very sought after resource and that is cap space. For example if Moses' salary was 500k, he's played around about 40% (200k) of the season, so that means 60% (300k) of his salary is taken off our cap. We can now fill that 300k with another player this year or front load a player we have picked up for next year, e.g. put 300k of Packer's salary for next year into this year's cap.

Is it still legal to front load next year's signings?

And that's why we didn't need anything in return from parra.

We physically didn't get a player in return from the eels but we did get a player in his position that will play to 100% of his ability, and not sulk or cry that he can't get a release

Moses was getting a decent hit of extra salary this year (i.e. more than what he was on at WT) at Parramatta, hence him being so desperate to go across town.

You can’t pay a player that is coming next year with his years cap, you can restructure a current player’s contract by re-signing them to a new deal and include an upgrade for this year or use it for a player that may become available before June 30.

Moses contract was $600,000, the NRL season goes from November 1 to October 31, so it means there is just over $276,000 available from Moses contract

Nice maths Pratten Park Magpie

We had a cancer removed

Not entirely. We got rid of Moses, Tedesco, Woods and Ava, we still have Brooks managed by the worm. If this Izzy Folau thing is for real Isaac will have two players at the club.

But it won't be four players, joined at the hip, coming off contract at the same time.

The snake oil salesman has been disarmed substantially.
