And they gave Their best players the week off.
An under prepared team( shows what they thought of us, ) had no problem with us even though they had a very average game by their standards

I was out so ignored all social media and sat down to watch the game just now. Tempting to look at the board to help sway my decesion to cheat, I ignored and started to watch. After it became 16 blot after 27 I switched it off, turned on the cricket and came back to me lovely.

I expected what I have read as the end result, but it doesn't make it any easier a pill to swallow. So much so I have not been able to get through my 3rd straight game. The glimpses are just that and think it's going to get worse before it gets better.

dont insult the fans by saying the coach has worked miricles when we are coming last. No one is going to buy that. We know the roster is not top 8 however it does include 2 origin players, Kiwi International and some of the best kids in the league.

I think all people expected were small improvements on the field as the season progressed. Individuals improving due to good coaching. There has been little evidence of either to date. It is too early to write him off but to say he has worked miricles is basically insulting the fans. Its garbage and you know it.

If he had worked miracle we would be in the Top 4\. But no according to you JT has worked miracles to achieve what no other coach at WT has acheived and that is to be in last place. Check out our roster in 2002, 2003, it was horrendous yt we avoided the spoon both years.

Remmeber Taylor was very bullish pre season about how he would immediately improve the defence. So even by his own expectations he is not delivering.

It is desperate times for them so some go missing (southern tiger- this bloke gave Potter a hiding for 2 years but you dont here from him now after singing taylors praises relentlessly for the first 2 months.

Others say JT has worked miracles at the place to have us this competitive in last place. Soon they will be telling us it was taylors plan to come last all along and it is for the better.

it is actually quite amusing. Its like Taylor himself the supporters adopt the same spin. Rather then say he needs to coach better and get more out of the group, they go through the list of excuses. Or they create spin to say despite running last we are improving.

The problem is that yourself and the JT supporters keep playing JT's spin game. If you were honest about the situation you would state that JT has been a terrible coach for us.

There is no excuse for taking the squad that we have to the wooden spoon. Potter was significantly better.

Interesting that the OP uses the following players as losses:
Koroibete 1 game
Fulton 6 games (knocked out in at least half)
Patterson 9 games (couple on the wing/centre)
Gavet 12 games (all from the bench)
Anasta 13 games

Are we really missing their input from last year?

Austin, Blair and Thompson are all definite misses but the rest either didn't play enough games to have any real impact or were s*** anyway when they played.
Just keep rolling out the excuses for JT.

I have high expectations for my team,and have since I was old enough to support the Balmain Tigers.Now I expect great things from my team the great WESTS Tigers,however I am knowledgable and sensible enough to understand especially after playing this game for years that things don't fall into place after a couple of training runs and a new S&C unit and coaching overhaul.
You must understand to have a competitive team,you must have quality players and the young guys must learn the NRL game,coming from NYC to NRL is an absolutely huge step up in quality of play..WHY don't we all look at this from Taylor's side for a minute..he has Kids and fringe first graders to make up an NRL standard team,compare his side to the Dogs,Broncs,Roorters and Souths…are you getting my drift....Taylor is doing several things,

1.Teaching the kids NRL and how to cope while coaching them the playing structure.
2.making positional changes for the better for players such as Lawrence..
3.trying to get experienced NRL players and novice kids to train and play to a winning structure .

Although many on here will jump at the chance to critise my thoughts,my reply is go for it especially if you are an NRL coach and have been or are in a similar position to JT...

I have seen enough to suggest that this team will become much better,however it takes time,I can cop winning the spoon on the chin,as long as things improve next year,JTs second year should be much better,especially if the structure falls into place and the kids get some confidence in playing that structure..
Everybody bags JT for having a defensive structure,even Bennett says the Broncs have a structure and they must stick to it to win and it's simple ..just give it time to workout for this team..

Having said that Iam completely over the negatives on the forum and people want instant success,I myself criticised what Taylor was doing to start with but after yesterday's game I seen things that show promise,these have taken time and will still take time...have faith peeps forget about what everyone thinks about getting the spoon and let this team develope and you will be pleased... :smiley:

The issue isn't Potter or Taylor its the squad we have this year. Wayne Bennett would have them 16th (like he did with Knights for most of the last year).

We came 13th last year and then offloaded 8 FG in Blair, Gavet, Fulton, Austin, Patterson, Anasta, Koroibete, Thompson with over 1000 FG games between them and replaced them with Kevin Naquiama and under 20s.

We have been competitive in almost every game this year whereas last year we were flogged in nearly every loss.

JT has worked miracles to make us competitive and we are probabaly 2 players short of competing for the top 8 when in reality we were 10 players off it last year under Potter.

Our salary cap is fecked and even when it isn't we can't compete based on Third party payments.

We have the worst facilities in the comp and yet somehow JT has managed to take us from the most injured team in the comp to one of the least.

JT is doing a great job with what he has

You don't really mean any of that. If you do maybe see a doctor.

He knew what the squad was before he signed on, he can't complain about his cattle now, his job was to improve them,

He hasn't , except in his own head

If he ever just came out and said, sorry I've stuffed up big time and we need to start over, I would have no trouble in giving him the chance to do that, but while ever he still comes out saying that we are headed in the right direction , with nothing to show that on the field, I just can't cop his B/S.the direction we are going is possible multiple wooden spoons.
Now maybe he knows of something that is below that, but I've never seen it.
Whatever it is we look like finding out.

Great post TT. I have been saying the same thing all over the place. Don't expect the haters to agree with you though. Their out for Taylors blood under any circumstances. Theirs is not to reason.

Maybe shortly they may get sick of writing all the diatribe,but don't hold your breath.

All this talk about the wooden spoon reminds me that the Rugby champions in New Zealand this year, were the wooden spooners two years ago. So people, have patience, put the knives away and let our "new" club evolve.

Well said TT I have no dramas where the team is heading at the moment others on here however all thought we would be in the top four this year that was never going to happen and now that our Cap has been shot to shit by previous management ie sheens, humphries, Mayer and co next year will be the same if not worse do I like being last on the table hell no but if it means fixing our cap and taking 2 years of pain I can live with that then we can go out and buy players o the market

Exactly. I think with a decent coach we would have had a lot better season. JT has been terrible.

Its not heading in the right direction. Heading in the right direction is just what the positive brigade try to say to help them deal with how poor we are.

Facts are we are worse this year than the last 2 or 3 years. This can not be disputed. it can be countered by saying we are building or we are learning and we will get there but facts are facts and we have gone backwards under the coaching of Jason Taylor.
