What do you look forward to everyday?

Sad as it sounds, as I read this thread I thought…. I don't really know.

I guess I look forward to relaxing with a show I enjoy when it's on.

But at this stage in my life, I'm not living 'in the moment' so much as living for the moments to come. Building a business, my partner lives in Wales & is moving here soon..ish... everything I guess I look forward to isn't an 'everyday' type thing.

And as I type this I realise how sad that sounds! Not looking for sympathy. This is just the stage I'm at. A lot of you seem to be in much sounder situations with yourselves right now, and that's amazing.

When playing intense chess absolutely nothing comes into one's mind, 10 hours can pass by with out eating. Best thing when dieting because can forget completely about food.

I've been struggling with weekends recently and been trying the gym, Arabic, some gardening…can be hard to find what you're passionate about outside of work...

Sounds good.
We've all got something to look forward to each day despite how boring / sad/ good / whatever our lives are.

Wether it's something as simple as a good night sleep, a nice cup of coffee or a smile from a stranger.
We're all gonna make it brah.
 
This is a good thread.

Stuff I don't do every day but regularly:-

1\. Riding my bike to the gym and then wrestling. I just got my brown belt in jiu-jitsu today. Been doing it for 10-12 years. I try to go 3 times per week.
2\. The weekend. Just unwinding.
3\. The weekend. Riding my bike with my wife and youngest son on the back of my bike (he is 5 years old).
4\. Having a decent talk with my 2 oldest kids - they are 12 and 14\. There is no way I'm having a good talk with those 2 every day.
5\. Booty time with the wife.
6\. Watching the Tigers.
7\. Watching the UFC.

Stuff I tend to do every day:-

1\. Eating a good meal.
2\. Morning coffee with the wife.
3\. Playing chess. I love this and you can do it online now so easily.
4\. Reading books.
5\. Leaving work for the day.
6\. Checking my finances to work out when I can leave work forever. This is at least 5 years away but I still tend to check my calculations/spreadsheets/bank balances every day. I'll be able to do jiu-jitsu more regularly at at that point but the problem is that the body is already rapidly declining.

Not sad at all, we're all on different journeys in life. It's good to hear how other people live, helps put our own lives into perspective (not necessarily for the better or worse.)

Another thing I forgot was playing guitar. I don't get to do it nearly as much as I used to. Hoping the young bloke will show an interest in an instrument so we can play together.
 
The weekend. Going out with my girls. Catching up with the folks. Going to the cinema or a gig - very rare these days.

Travelling overseas, even rarer these days. Although we've got a family trip over to Peru towards the end of the year.

Gotta say though, its hard not to say watching the Tigers running around on the weekend.

Very similar to you Steve.

Congrats on your brown belt, that is massive. I also did MMA and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for a few years and reached brown belt in MMA and Purple in Jiu-jitsu….you would demolish me Steve if I was to roll with you now :laughing:, arm bar my arm of it's socket.
There is a few cage fighters where I trained and Sensei asked me if I wanted to have a Cage fight? Didn't have time to dedicate and prepare for a fight and when I brought it up with the Mrs....one look was all it took :laughing:.

Spend heaps of time at the Beach and hanging out with the kids and Wifey.
B.B.Q with mates and Family is a regular occurrence.

Congrats Steve that is seriously a massive achievement....not far from your black now.
 
happy 'Golden Gloves' tiger would take him easy..

I also like Chicken twisties over Cheese..

I'm too old to fight. Plenty of guys at my gym do MMA. I see them train every so often but whenever I see them cop it a punch to the head I figure I'm better off giving that a miss.

I just keep turning up because I love it. It is a big achievement although lots of guys get it and then quit. I'll keep turning up until my body can't handle it anymore.
