What I know today....Tiger Torch

Brooks and Moses should be ashamed of themselves not going back to the club and taking market value for next year ie 500k each tops!!

They're kids who could have their careers ended next season with an injury. It's not like they are club legends who have had long and lucrative careers and are already financially secure.

Life can be cruel. Look at Dwyer and Tuiaki? Been on construction jobs where a couple of ex first graders are working as a trades assistants and mature age apprentice electrician. Both played origin, one played for Australia too! These blokes need to take what they can for as long as they can because there are no gaurantees in league only that their playing careers are limited, so good luck to them! This makes me sound hypocritical because I feel Farah needs to give it away for the clubs future give up the coin Robbie!

If this bloke leaves or if that bloke leaves will be fine…pffft..i think people bloked out the 11 bog average years out of 14...

It ill be a bit hard for Ivan to Coach us and the Warriors...could be groundbreaking out of the square stuff though...

OBE-WAN is back in the house , welcome back master :master:

Thanks for the insight TT. Pretty amazing insight actually….

So we can plan on a new coach for 2017; the current coaches don't see eye to eye on selections; Farah is a major impediment to our cap; a deal appears to have been struck re Farah and SOO; JAC should and wants to stay...

I just hope we finish 2016 in a positive way and now look forward to 2017\. Already

I think if Taylor and Farah go we will be fine, hang on to JAC and buy players we need not another Ballin, pick teams on form and we should be at the pointy end for a change.
Taylor I think is the biggest obstacle stopping the team moving forward, getting rid of him and have players held accountable and picked in their right positions would be a huge step forward.
Thanks Tiger Torch I love your info, and it generally confirms what most sensible people on the forum believe should happen.

Agree mate with Taylor , with his ineptness and the lack of leadership skills & Farah with his over inflated Ego and stubbornness .
You watch when these two go , players from outside the club will be climbing over each other to sign on the dotted line .

Better days ahead …. Just counting the days

Hope you are right there… Gee Farah and Bunji touted as future club legends a few years back have been white anted this club... Can't wait for Farah to finish up

Both Farah and Taylor should've been punted at the end of last season IMO
No other club in the NRL would've copped that crap .

Thanks very much for the update Tiger Torch, always good to get some "light" shed on what's happening within the inner sanctum. If the club is smart they will upgrade Addo-Carr and consider letting Hunt/Rankin go at season's end. Koroibete is simply asking too much these days, better to spend $300k over 2 years rather than $600k.

No surprise to hear Halatau is finishing up. Hope the Elijah Taylor deal comes through although I like some of our backrow options coming through NYC such as Bayley Sironen and Esan Marsters. Also keen to hear what the club plans for the likes of JJ Felise, Junior Tatola, Jacob Liddle and Obed Kharwin.

I was at the game for the U20s against Newcastle and Obed Kharwin got into the clear and was run down inside 25metres. I was shocked, I thought he had more pace than that.

I don't know what is dumber here, the tigers offering 280k for a winger, whose defensive reads are terrible, or the fact he thinks he is worth 360k. He was also binned in a tight semi last year for punching. Koro might be quick, but beyond that he does not offer much.
Am I about the only person that wished Nofa was playing last week, as while JAC may be quick, our current gameplan seems to involve our back taking loads of hitups in our own 1/2 on early tackles. JAC & Rankin were manhandled, Nofa constantly makes metres. Watching Tedesco taking these hitups just makes me sick that others in the team do not recognise his value and get in to do that work that he should not be asked to do.

Thanks TT for the update - appreciate it.

Glad to hear you think Koro won't come back - best news of the week. I would also like to keep JAC. Milone and Heleta, toss a coin really for mine, need to look for an experienced centre, someone like Whare and move Simona to the wing.

Like us to make more use of Rankin, can see him getting pushed out - I hope not. Same with Chee Kam. At least he needs to be given a go. Played alright for Manly when I saw him. Wouldn't be hard to beat Lovett.

Also like to keep Taylor - can't see the boys putting in 110% (like they did last week) if they didn't want to play for the coach. Personally do not think Cleary is as good. If JT had been able to buy a centre and a back rower, we would not have lost the last five games in my opinion.

Thanks again TT - up the Tigers.

Rankin is a good player to have in the top 25 given he covers 1-7 and is a competent goal kicker. He's playing in what is probably his least suited back line position and has been solid, if unspectacular. He looks like a first grader to me.

re: winger money - $360k is ridiculous for a winger in general IMO, let alone one with very obvious holes in their game.
I wouldn't spend too much money on wingers at all, as replacement level guys are pretty readily available, and they don't exactly make or break a team. I doubt any of the four wingers in last year's GF would have been on much $$.

Cherrington has let it be known he will stay with the Tigers but wants a guarantee that he will be 1st choice hooker next year, the fly in the ointment is Farah!

Someone needs to explain to Cherrington that there are no guarentees, your form will earn you that position not demands. If Robbie & Ballin are at the club next year, he will not be the first choice, and even if they were to leave, I think he is in a neck and neck battle with Liddle.

The treatment of MCK has been appalling and his form / fitness / training application has begun to slip.

I am not sure when this happenned, but watching his defence/workrate in NSW cup a few weeks ago, there is no way you would let him near a first grade squad.

I want players picked that bust their gut regardless of grade with a view of getting picked on that. Not someone who sees themselves as a star (despite never stepping up) whose poor form in lower grades is a response to them not getting picked, not the fact that they never had the mental strength to be a first grader in the 1st place

Lol, that light at the end of the tunnel, is well and truly overdue then Geo.

Thanks for that, TT. I still feel Jason Taylor is in the same boat as Mick Potter, the one whose course has been set by the powers above.

I dunno about others, but I'm a big Jordan Rankin fan. Ok he's not spectacular, but he gets his job done and is serviceable wherever you play him. Great value for money (I assume).

Seve was lead to believe he would be given a crack at centre this year and subsequently trained the house down, then told he would play in Ron Massey cup, he then left as he knew Milone was the anointed / sponsored one!

This to me sums up what is wrong with our club. One of our best juniors, who was a gun in the 20s and touted as a future 1st grader, leaves after a great preseason, because he knows he won't get a look in. Outrageous to think Milone is there in 1sts and basically 3rd best centre thanks to Sponsorship. 😱pen_mouth:

Interesting reading. Go figure - so much still revolves around Robbie. Just the way he likes it. He really holds the club back these days.
Koro returning to the Tigers? Couldn't see that ever happening.
A player with a regular offload in him within our ranks and he can't get a run - typical.
JT without a show in hell of carrying on as coach. Seems about right.
JAC - loves the club and must therefore ooze passion and will to win yet we look to move him on to Melbourne. More stupidity.
When the light does eventually shine….it's going to be soooo sweet. That 2005 feeling was magical. I'd like that again. Won't happen whilst Taylor and farah are there though. I think we all know that.

The panthers are a natural fit for Cherrington,. Not only because TeMaire is there but also Docker Clay. They are close also. Saw him at the tigers game doing the haka for Cherrington's debut.

Regarding Farah's contract.

Why would the club risk losing 2-3 youngsters with a combined 20+ years of footy ahead of them for the sake of keeping Farah around for 1 more year. That would be a foolish decision.

Farah or JAC/Cherro/+ few contract top ups?
Pay the man out & let's look forward to playing finals footy again over the next 10 years.

Excellent update Torch

Both he(Pascoe) and Mark O'neil believe our current roster only needs a few tweaks to secure consistent top 8 appearances.

Look, the results whilst not going our way, the -9 for and against with 5 losses does tend to suggest we have moved significantly in the right direction and yeah, just a few tweaks may be all that's required.

Shame about the whole Seve/Milone thing and I think most of the forum would prefer Addo-Carr there instead of Rankin (even though his last couple of games have been decent)….....the goal kicking thing will be the sticking point though until we can find someone else.

Lovett it is agreed by all bar Taylor can provide an effective 20 minute spell but nothing more.

What's going on there?? Has it become an ego thing or something?

Cherrington has let it be known he will stay with the Tigers but wants a guarantee that he will be 1st choice hooker next year, the fly in the ointment is Farah!

A concern, but surely Robbie won't be here next year??? surely??

disappointing to hear the coaching staff seemed to have rolled over so quickly. I remember the place was full of confidence and postitivity when the Easter update was posted.
