To me that is a team that if Marshall and Farah fire and our 7 defends well and doesn't stuff it will threaten for the comp.

The forwards must be the best or close to it in the comp and the bench looks potent. The outside backs may be a little slow but they are going to score plenty. Lawrence running the ball back will be dangerous and get us on the front foot consistently.
 
if sheens wants us to get bigger,does that mean we get rid of the back on the bench.
i don't think so,but i would like to see us re-sign utai and have him come off the bench.
i think it is the perfect spot for him and won't become a regular 5min position on our bench.

blair will not play frontrow, and bmm will not get a run on the form he is showing at present.fullback is the big x factor. none of the above do it for me.

and what if he's not? then its just a totaly wasted spot.If you get an injury in the backline you just have to make do and make a re-shuffle
picking a winger on the bench for the sole purpose of covering for an injury is stupid
then what if theres no injury ? do you bring him on in the last 5 mins for the sake of it?
I think your the first person i've seen who actually thinks its a good idea to have a winger on the bench :unamused:

nah mate I dont think I would be the only one. I just think its plain stupid not to have a winger on the utility. Tuqiris in his 30's for god sake. You don't think he'll get injured?

That reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why are we so worried about what happens if a winger gets injured that we need to keep a spare winger on the bench?

What if Marshall gets injured? You can't put a prop at 5/8? Should we then keep a spare 5/8 on the bench? And what about Farah, who will play hooker if he gets injured? Do we need a spare hooker on the bench? Beau Ryan can't play hooker or half.

If we follow this reasoning we'll pretty soon end up with a bench of:

14\. Beau Ryan (in case we lose a winger)
15\. Mitch Brown (in case the fullback goes down)
16\. Jacob Miller (back up half)
17\. George Nadira (reserve hooker)

The reality is that winger is much easier to cover in an emergency that half or hooker. Just push Ellis or Fulton into the centers and move Lawrence or Ayshford to wing. They've all started games in those positions before.

But if you're half goes down, it's not much help having winger on the bench…
 
I hope Rhino sticks around but definatly believe he will be on the bench next year in fact he could struggle to mantain that ..last nights game showed how ineffective with the ball he is!.
 
I thought Rhino went fine last night. I think he is a quality player who deserves a starting spot even with Blair in the squad.
