What will the new competition look like

We'll survive:
- We are one of the few clubs that turn a profit and will continue to have a stable income from Wests Ashfield when they re-open.
- We're consistently one of the better Sydney clubs when it comes to memberships sold and are on track to hit 20k plus again this year.
- We are one of the most watched teams on TV
- We are the team most representative of Inner West Sydney.
- Centre of Excellence on the way

We made $100k profit in 2018. We lost money in every other year including last year. We are NOT one of the few clubs that turns a profit.

will Tigers survive? Who will definitely survive? Souths Roosters Broncos Storm? Pretty sure St George Sharks Gold Coast all on shaky ground

Why should the Roosters definitely survive? They have no fans (apart from one rich car dealer), no juniors... They bring nothing to the game. If it was up to me they'd be first on the chopping block.

Most likely because they will be able to pay their players and staff.

Dear Harry ,

The kitchen and witches hats you
Provided at Concord were very much
Appreciated ...

But ..

I think we’ll be back in business July with a shortened season. Players’ incomes will be cut back severely with all 16 teams operating on a shoestring budget.

But as it’s all gone to crap won’t the Rorters need to open up there books ?

If there’s a fire at the Chooks HQ you’ll know why !

They may ask punters in the crowd to run the flags lol

? yeh nah.. V’Landys will get a very healthy government backed bank loan. Fortunately we have a PM who realises the importance nrl plays in the lives of Australians.

Impossible to say what the comp may look like.

Based on what's been reported, there's a fair chance that the NRL will fall over. So you'd have to assume a new body will replace it when the dust settles.

Most likely, the new body will want clubs that are self sufficient and a setup that maximises the revenue per game from any broadcaster.

Any club that is remotely solvent and well followed would be welcomed back.

the new comp or nrl etc need to be careful they dont do too much damage in sydney re teams. Still know lots of north sydney bears supporters that gave up on league and went to afl when they went.
Maybe they can convince saints to move to woolongong permantently and play 1 or two a year at kogarah.
We have already merged so i dont think it is right we put our hands up again, they wont want to lose the emblem so i think we survive as we represent inner west and also campbletown etc.
Also hoping wests ashfield and Harry T can work out something to assist us along with Brydens.
Dogs have a huge leagues club but represent a small area if we have long shuydowns they might struggle
Roosters well no juniors or crowds if they didnt have Politis they would be stuffed and gone for sure.
Souths a bit like roosters but have a following and russel crowe so may be ok
Penrith huge leagues club they must be bleeding money if it is a long hiatus
Parramatta in the same boat leagues club but no huge backers i think they may struggle.
Potential merge parra and penrith to Parramatta panthers
Kick out the warriors
Manly look in trouble with the Penn family i mean at some point they will likely sell
interesting times ahead although deep down i think now afl and nrl has shut game when needed the government will kick in sone cash, closing the games makes a shutdown seem real now.
If we had Keating and his love of antique clocks or Bob Carr and his love of the arts we as a game might struggle.
Also we need to work out how we can get some of the government stadium grant for ANZ redistributed to assist the nrl when we are back and running it can help prop up the comp

New comp should ditch the NRL brand and make it known it's a new rugby league comp. Many people I've seen in response to NRL saying how important it is they keep running, and asking for govt help, etc etc, have been absolutely disgusted. Millions are going to lose jobs and be in financial difficulties. To think NRL is above every one else. Let NRL die, and a new comp in association with ARL start.
