I think your a mature lad tuck, when I was a kid livin in Cobar we literally learnt with a heavy hand.
I'm not advocating that but what I am advocating is consistency in parenting.
Parents need to be united in what's acceptable and what's unacceptable behaviour and it can't be ok one day and not on another day.
Kids pick up on this and thats the start of the breakdown. It's hard when schools have a different standard as do the local footy coach etc.
When I coached the kids, if a boy said "f" it was 10 pushups and a lap around the park before he joined back in. I don't know if that sort of thing happens these days.
Break and enters is all about lack of respect and of course greed and an easy buck.
I can tell you exactly where we went wrong in our society....when growing up I was taught to respect my mum,my dad and the elder people of our community...we werent angels at times by getting in trouble with boys stuff such as taking the car for a drive with no license, blowing up some tossers mailbox with the old 2 penny bunger etc...
Society got it wrong when the garbage politicians let kids divorce their parents, the strap was stopped at school and juveniles got a smack on the hand with no real consequence..
I dont care about who wants to side with the woke part of our society,I can tell you this...disciplne,hard work, respect and looking after each other was always the norm..
Blame the crap on the govts and the do gooders for the failing of our society as it once was...

Yes it was ....I went to a Catholic boys boarding school as a day student...BUT if you did the right thing you avoided the severe discipline....you never heard of the garbage that is going on now with kids as young as 9.10.11 yrs old wandering the streets at all hours of the night in gangs waiting to rob or harass people...
the hard years were tough, but so were we and we learnt to respect people and their property....CHANGE MY MIND....

I will give you an example...I didnt see eye to eye with a border and he and I clashed one day to the point I told him I would meet him at lunch time at the squash courts to sort things out...I had him just where I needed him after I got a black eye,a bleeding nose ,he was about to cop the big right hook and upper cut when the discipline master got me by the back of the neck and told me to go to his office after I cleaned myself up..
He was good friends with my dad at the time and told me that this was going to hurt him more than me and gave me six of the best with a rubber strap...I had to go to footy training that afternoon and tell my coach that I couldnt do fast ball work because my hands blew up and were black and blue and I couldnt catch the ball...we were to play against St Pats Strathfield the next Saturday and I was the centre and goalkicker,I made it to the game and my hands were still as sore as buggery...

These kids in our regional centres and towns are so out of control currently that it’s beginning to get dangerous to be out and about alone.
Forcing their way into peoples homes, whilst they are there, and stealing their cars at knife point is becoming more the norm.
It won’t be long until we wake up one morning to the news that a gang broke into the home of a VET or ex copper and he protected his family, blowing a hole in the chest of an 11 year old.
It’s coming, and once that societal barrier is broken (i.e. defend your home with deadly force), it will repeat all over the country. For god sakes, look after your kids and know where they are and who they hang out with. Their era of “no consequences” is coming to a close.
Well people felt it was their duty to tear down all discipline and societal norms. Who would have thought this would be the outcome?

This is starting to sound like..."But you were lucky, my dad used to kill us before we went to school" 🤣

An Austrian woman who allegedly swallowed more than a hundred cocaine-filled pellets before flying to Australia is the third person to be charged with importing internally concealed drugs in the past two months.

The 27-year-old allegedly ingested 124 pellets with a combined weight of about 1 kilogram, the Australian Federal Police said on Sunday.

It also alleged the woman excreted and re-swallowed eight of the pellets during her travel............................

Tough job

That's concerning. There's a breakdown at all levels...education, reabilitation, leadership, role models, resources, employment, self esteem, tolerance, respect, law and order, sport and recreation, transport, housing, what have I left out.
Responsibility.
