When Will The Coach Be Announced?

I was just passing on what was said, I doubt they have personally spoken to Brown so… It would seem strange that he would not be keen.

October 16, and it will be Mick Potter

**After the test this weekend and Mick Potter**. Sheens to finish up as Australian coach and off to NZ.

I'm putting my faith in you B&W.

Potter after the test will do me just fine.

I hope you blokes are right,Potter would be great,I wouldn't say no to Brown either, but they are the standouts in my opinion.
If Fraze is right and I hope he is,Parish and Walters are not coming, great news I say,we are still barely in the premiership window,we don't want a Parish like coach blowing our chances, all though Sheens didn't help our cause this year and he is the most experienced.

Is Brown keen or not seems conficting?

Nathan and I share a mutual friend, he spoke to the club whilst here on holiday. He is now back in UK, awaiting the clubs decision. He would love the role at the Wests Tigers.

Fatty on the Footy Show said he's been in regular phone contact with a Tigers board member, friends i know are getting old and out of the loop but general consensus is Brown has no hope but you never know.

Edit..No worries Fraze, noticed that after i posted, this Forum is very clunky & slow on my computer for some reason.

I didn't mean the board haven't spoken to Brown.

I must say the quality of potential coaches is certainly a lot better than back in 2003 when Tim was last man standing and got the gig by default. To think that, money aside, we have people of the calibre of Mick Potter wanting the gig means we must still be seen as a desirable option.

Yeah well look at the juniors Yoss….won the SG Ball, runners up in NSW cup (which they probably should have won) and champions in NYC.

There is plenty of talent at this club. Just need an outsider who has the balls to call a spade a spade and play people were they should be. Mick potter will do me just fine.

Yeah, history was re-written when they won the 2005 Grand Final especially from Benny Elias, the Prince & Sheens knockers quickly changed tune.Gould agreed to coach but wanted a contract/salary $1 more than the highest paid player,IIRC that was Terry Hill, but the majority of the board decided they just couldn't afford him.

Geez I know knocking Benny Elias is a thriving trade on this forum but as I recall he was pretty open about his change of heart on Sheens well before the 2005 season.

Sheens legacy blah blah blah….
Who's to know we wouldn't have done the same if not better if they had signed someone else.

Bellamy was also extremely close to signing with the tigers,oh what could have been.

He knocked us back for some reason I can't remember but I remember reading an article a couple if years ago saying that knocking us back was his biggest regret

I'm assuming that was within 10 minutes of the final bell ringing at the 2005 grand final and he was caught up in the moment….... any time outside of that I would think the ledger swings firmly back in Melbourne's favour, even with the salary cap scandal.

Belamy publicly stated that he knocked the tigers back because he wanted to stay in QLD with his family whilst his son was in year 12\. A few months later he signed on to the storm and was willing to travel back to QLD.

Mate he was trying to be polite, we were the joke of the league at the time.

Terry Hill also had quite a bit to say at the time suggesting that Bellamy wasn't who the players wanted. Nice one Terry!
