Where are all the Moltzen critics now !!!

Moltzen's last few games have been his best all season, but there are plenty of NRL fullbacks that have played better than Tim in 2011: Slater, Dugan, Boyd, Locke, Hoffman, Minichello, Stewart, Barba, Merritt ….

I could've played against those teams and looked like a superstar.

If he plays like that in a meaningful NRL game then I'll change my tune.

But he hasn't, and he won't.

I think i have made my position on Moltz clear all year, I think he is a very talented player, I think he has copped more criticism than he has deserved this year, I also think people have been short sighted in their view to him.
He has had far more than one good game despite what other have said in this thread, I hope he kepes playing well, I look forward to Moltz's bigger critcis, especially the ones who I reckon know footy, having to type, I was wrong, Moltz at fullback, good selection, played a big role in winning us the comp. (willow and happy i expect you to front up when Moltz keeps this up alll the way to GF day)

Goose If you think Moltzen has had more than one good game, how many good games do you think he has had and which ones ?? I reckon he has had maybe 2 good games ,3-4 acceptable and the rest were junk
Reported $300k for 5-6 acceptable games .
Playing good games against Parra and playing good games against Melbourne ,Manly etc might be a different matter
I'll be one of the first to front up IF he can continue his Parra form against strong opposition Goose I promise mate . I picked Parra to make the 8 I'm no expert

His not on $300k for a start, (however saints have paid good coin for him from what Ive been told)
he was clearly great against Parra. He was good against Penrith , Nth QLd and Manly for a start, He was good at half against Souths early in the year.

There were a heap of games where you blokes gave it to him when he was fine.

Ive never got why you blokes carve Moltz so much, and wrap Lui so much, early in the year lui and Moltz would both play average and you would laud Lui and spate Moltz.

The saints coaching staff are over the moon to grab Moltz, they see him as a star

the issue is alot of us dont rate him as a fullback, the games hes performed well in at fullback they have been against teams who havent tested him. the reason he's been crucified and lui hasnt is because moltzen is playing out of position.

as for the wraps on lui, they have been well deserved. he's continually improving, which is what you want from a young half… im sure if moltz didnt get injured last year he'd probably have the wood over lui, however it wasnt to be... moltzen will eventually play five eight at the dragons... and we'll hate it... but i'd take marshall any day...

MOLTZ is one of the best players and is a big big loss…. He was gonna be a rising star as fullback, he set up utai's try, he made alot of runs.... Where are the haters at now? Haters better think there words carefully before criticizing a talent player like moltzen.... I dare a hater to come say it to my face at a game... I'll have the answers for ya....

i've seen some keyboard warriors in my time, but to make yourself sound like such a goose from a single post puts you up there with some of the best i've seen

Moltzen has been shocking all yr, bar no more then about 5 games. For the most part he has shown zero improvement. Lawrence put him to shame when he came back from the hip injury. I honestly wasn't expecting anything at all this yr, and i realy thought there may have been a possibility we may not have seen him at his best again till midway through next yr. The way he came back left me stunned. Moltzen should be embarressed. And realy after this rediculous post so should you.
Take care now

All he has shown is **at best**, he's the same footballer as last year.

He's had more than one good game, but his BAD games have been so bad, they have cost us games.

Namely the first Gold Coast Game. Horrendous stuff.

Once he learns to PASS the ball to an outside man, attempt to catch all bombs sent to him, and RUN THE BALL BACK, the criticism of his game will stop.

Goose in actual fact I think we are paying Moltzen partially for next seasons contract with Saints from what I have read
I'm not 100% sold on Lui yet either
Nothing personal against the guy He just doesn't seem suited at fullback
You compare him even to the average fullbacks in the NRL He doesn't match them in many areas of the keys roles that are expected of a fullback

Good ol Timmy Choo Shoes Moltzen played well last week, but he still needs to work on a few things if he wants to be a Fullback…

Lol, great posts UFC BENJI...

What I'm saying is if u got crap to say about MOLTZ then u better say it to the fans faces that are MOLTZ fans or else go home.... Moltz is a talented player... Don't throw ur words at him when he isn't bad, he has done a load of work for the tigers... Maybe u ain't watching him enough to see he's on his game....

Your words are so true BENJI.Moltz has done loads of work for the Tigers ,so much work that his coach is happy to let him walk away whilst he was still contracted.Im happy to go with the coach on Moltz.

For what its worth I am a TM fan. They say it takes at least a year to recover from a knee reconstruction and he seems to be going along nicely. He is hitting his straps at the right time for us. Sad to say he will be even better next year.

two good games don't make a season!!…for the most part Moltzen has been poor to average....let's leave it at that and wish him well at his new club...I for one wont be missing him!

I'm not too fussed he's leaving but I don't understand why they let him go only to sign Joel reddy and grant from rugby molten has way more potential then those 2 put together

He got a pay rise at the Dragons (my info on this deal comes from their camp not ours)

I am in the minority on this one, but I reckon Moltz has been far better than it is being made out here, yet clearly far from his best. He does have deficiencies is his game (like most players) for some reason I reckon people focus on these more for Moltzen than other players.

I think had he have been given a position and allowed to stick at it for any length of time before now, his form would have improved earlier

I'm not a great Molzen fan and if this was April/May I'd be in there swinging with the rest of you. (Well probably not as I've only recently joined the forum but you know what I mean  ). His deficiencies have been documented in 100 threads.

BUT

At this time of the year I look at it this way -

1\. He will be playing in the finals
2\. He will be playing fullback
3\. He has ablility
4\. Confidence is gold

Whichever camp you are in regarding Molzen it's time to stop the slagging, get behind everyone in the team and hope like hell that the pro-Molzen camp is correct. If they're not, there is a long off season to vent and you've won anyway - he's going.

Whether it's the Tiger's ballboy with acne, the cheerleader with the fat bum or the coach you don't agree with - it's too late!!!

Get behind them and enjoy the next month or so - seasons like this don't come around as often as we'd like.
