Interesting that you joined back in May but have waited until now that he is finally giving us value for money to come in here and defend him….

I am happy with how he is playing at the moment but when the decision was made you could hardly argue that it was a wrong one. If he does become an elite player than thats our bad luck. Thats football....

I was making many comparisons between Moltzen and Kevin Locke yesterday. I think a kid like Locke shows what Moltzen lacks week-to-week.

Sure Timmy is a confidence player and has some great attacking skills in him, but even yesterday he murdered two line breaks when he could have gone to ground. Fair enough we were comfortably ahead on both occasions, but my point is for all his potential skill he seems to lack that 10% instinctive football aggression. That was still evident yesterday with his general reluctance to take hit-ups and some poor options.

Locke on the other hand produced a string of Slater-like moments on Saturday that show just how much footy instinct he has. He slid under the ball to try save on Waterhouse, he ducked under on-rushing kick chasers to return a 60m try, he set up Johnson for a run-away try, then reeled in and cut down a flying Jennings.

Moltzen is a good kid and I hope he keeps on. But I compare Locke's tackle on Jennings to Moltzen a few weeks ago catching Kenny-Dowall - one was pure speed then a classic covering tackle, the other speed and then an awkward collar grab. Ultimately the same result, but much more impressed by the first than the latter.

I know this is off topic but gee I like the look of Johnson from the Warriors
Real class player and a huge future Andrew Johns has big wraps on this kid also

Johnson is a skillful player and Locke is a freak.

On topic of Warriors players Godinet would be worth a look at picking up for the halves. He is a natural footballer and his best position is in the halves but he has played hooker at NRL lvel and a bit of fullback for the Vulcans this season

Mate they are all quiet because they realized how wrong they were

What a load of rubbish mate, he has been dreadful for 90% of the season, he has had three games where he has been better than average and now everyone is wrong? :unamused:

This sums it up well HT. Moltzen has without doubt turned in some shockers this season, and he has played more bad games than good. BUT…The last couple of weeks (despite being against teams outside the 8) have shown noticeable improvement and Moltzen is now starting to take the line on more, which is what he should have been doing all year IMO.

He still lacks the support play required of a top shelf fullback, but if he continues the way he is, then he'll ultimately relieve some of the pressure on Marshall and Lui and gives another option which should complement the Lawrence/Tuqiri combo. As long as he keeps improving, I'll be happy.

Yep, a bloke has a good game against the team coming dead last (whilst still blowing 2 tries) and all of a sudden we're meant to forget the first 23 rounds of complete and utter garbage he dished out

He is not worth $300k a season. He might have been at halfback but not catching kicks and passing 30m to the winger to get smashed. He doesn't like getting tackled.

MOLTZ is one of the best players and is a big big loss…. He was gonna be a rising star as fullback, he set up utai's try, he made alot of runs.... Where are the haters at now? Haters better think there words carefully before criticizing a talent player like moltzen.... I dare a hater to come say it to my face at a game... I'll have the answers for ya....

Or ????????

Or apparently you have to go home. I hope Moltzen doesn't spill a few bombs early on this weekend. Half the crowd might have to leave…

I just hope he doesn't let bombs bounce like he did last time we played Titans
That was probably the worst display I have seen from a NRL fullback in my life

hi my name is tigerdale and i'm one who has bagged Moltzen all season (and justifiably).

he has been great the past month (as has the whole team), so i have to give credit where it is due.

but for 250k a season, i can't justify us keeping him at the club and good luck to him at St George

X2.

Ill join "Moltzens Constructive-Criticizers Anonymous" or "MCCA" for short as well

Hi Lads, you know me as Underdog. _***"Hi Underdog"***_

I have also questioned Moltzen's lack of intensity, and at times interesting decisions in both defense and attack.

His play in attack over the last few weeks has been up to the potential that we knew our boy Tim could set out to achieve. His play in the previous 21 rounds was not.

His defense of High kicks over the last few games has been of significant improvement over the last 21 or so games previously, although at times he is still letting them bounce.

His kick returns are still the same. Questionable at best.

He still knows how to butcher a try. That hasn't changed either.

I'm not going as far as saying I'm eating my words, but I am here at MCCA as his game still has issues, however I would be HAPPY to eat my words come finals time.

(i.e I accept that the MCCA can help me)

Having said that, in 2012 when we play the dragons, I feel it should be my right as a member of the MCCA to show absolutely no surprise to the fact that our boys will exploit the pants off those issues which he won't rectify.

Thankyou for your time,

Underdog.
