Where did the Klemmer "money" go? (TT?)

Assuming that TigerTorch has some idea what he/she is talking about, and he has a good track record, we reportedly put a solid offer to Klemmer for 2017+ to bookend with his mate Woods.

Klemmer re-signed with Dogs for 4 more years.

I was thinking about it this morning, if we had this kind of money to offer starting next year, where has it gone wrt ET? We have always known Farah's back-ended contract is a big burden on our salary cap, but only recently has the story emerged that ET's asking price is beyond what we have spare.

I am not clear therefore how we managed any kind of offer to Klemmer in the first place. Obviously if the story is untrue, then it is self-explanatory.

Good question. We resigned Aloiai,Lovett,Liddle but they were hardly on big bucks…...Maybe Brooks and Moses re-committing for another year not that that should make a difference. In hindsight, it does sound a bit odd.

I actually was thinking the same thing! Klemmer came out in an article too confirming the Tigers approached him.

The broses cash surely couldn't have taken it as that should have already been factored in.

When it comes to salary cap restrictions, all clubs are dirty liars. Believe it when the NRL intervenes. You could easily imagine the club using "we can't afford Elijah" to elicit support for the Farah sacking.

They might also have been banking on being able to move Farah on, who knows.

Only a STUPID would make an offer they can't fulfill,
Oh i forgot coach bean doing the deals.

They couldt get rid of Farah then & they wont get rid of him now. Could just imagine we sign Klemmer & then they say, sorry we dont have the money. Someone is telling fibs.

Only a STUPID would make an offer they can't deliver, i wonder if klemmers crew saw it CLEARLY. Moving farah? Who do you guys think your fooling….......

Then you also add Halatau retiring, they also made an offer to JAC and he didnt accept it. Klemmer would be on huge money, SOO forward, young and probably one of best forwards in the game. I really wonder if fhe whole Elijah thing is a play on tiger supporters to win the PR battle to move Farah on. Time will tell all things.

This is why I assumed we had the money to sign ET. Tiger Torch said we offered 700k to Klemmer. We can't have spent that money

Maybe Harry put it into another Unit.?.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing about the WT salary cap issues…they have been around since Sheens left 4 years ago....and when Mayer came on board he assured us the CAP is going to be fixed, which it wasn't, the same when the Guy from Penrith (name escapes me), 2 years ago...and it just seems to get worse and worse rather than getting better...

im guessing all our money has gone to:

Moses, Brooks, Tedesco, Woods, Farah (very publicised) and Chris Lawrence.

all their contracts are probably going up every year too - especially the young ones

Who said the Klemmer money was available in the first place ??

I never saw any press releases saying the WT's were going all out to sign him

the only thing I saw was some thought that because Klemmer and Woods are mates that Klemmer would go to the WT's naturally

Interesting story I did hear though was that the Dogs are chasing Foran

They are offering Michael Lichaa up to the highest bidder and are going to play Mbye at hooker

I admit I'm a bit of a Lichaa fan , he seems to be struggling a bit with 2nd year syndrome , but I wouldn't mind if we had a nibble at Lichaa if it were true

You might find it had a big TPA attached to it based on Klemmer signing …..

That's why sometimes you need to look at the figures offered and see if it looks realistic salary cap wise

700 k for someone who struggles to play maybe 50 minutes every week probably isn't realistic

The only props in the game on that money are playing 70 - 80 minutes I'd reckon

Don't believe the club when they say salary cap problems its like the boy who cried wolf the Tigers have a much more serious problem they have a lying problem

Every year the same B/S they sign Taylor and Grant after no money in cap the other year it was almost the guy who went to Parra

Phill Moss who was here was fixing it and the year before as well fixing it crazy

But on a better note was told was told King Teddy has resign but this from guy who also told me Luke Lewis sign with the Tigers few years ago which the club just missed out on so who knows

They keep on taking money out off Petty cash to pay for Pizza and drinks after the games.
Im suspecting we have depleted our funds that way hence no coin to re-sign ET

South's are trying to dump a Burgess twin. Snap him up at a good price for half the coin of klemmer.

apparently he was on $500K
Soufs are happy to pay some of it for some club to take him but i rather we sign ET than him (if we have that kind of money)
