The sad thing about this is how personally people have taken this, thus the issue they with JT is personal as a result. Not even a premiership will win these people over, which would be the ultimate evidence that they place the player above the club.

If we make the finals this yr, I wouldn't be surprised if he was given a 1 yr extension to give the club more time to evaluate what the plan is long term. If that happens, the popcorn will be on stand by.

Is this really true. Speaking for myself I think it is a really poor decision and it shows a lack of integrity however it's not like I'm having a breakdown and I think JT should be shot and quartered.

I think that is too good for him.

In all seriousness I don't even really like Robbie. I just think that this is poorly handled and personal rather than being about what is right for the team.

It is true. I saw someone on another site recently saying anything less than the top 4 and he should be sacked because "anything less is a failure". Strange comment considering we finished 15th last yr, so a top 8 finish this yr by logic would be a resounding success. I took that comment as just someone who obviously hates him that much, it wouldn't matter how far he takes us. Obviously this person sees the 8 within reach and he knows he may have to eat his own words, so in an act of desperation had to the raise the bar for Taylor even higher.

I suppose some people think like that. At the same time the hatred towards Robbie is pretty over the top. Some of the stuff posted about Robbie is completely irrational.

Like what ??

Could say the same about Taylor

Taylor has a 3 year plan and if the club continues to move forward he deserves his third season

If we lost 4-5 of our last 7 that could change , but barring injuries I can't see that happening

Just a pity we lost that Dogs game

You're right, but you don't ever hear his critics calling to boycot games he's selected in and that they're no longer supporting the club or renewing memberships till he's gone.

We gotta win 6 out of 7 to make the 8\. For some this is the only way taylor can keep his job.
When was they last time we won 6 out of 7?

Personally I think Taylor should go now anyway but prior to dropping Robbie which seems personal to me I thought he had to make the 8 or he should be sacked.

I think we have underperformed with the squad we have & Taylor agrees with my comment here.

It's not about winning 6 out of 8\. It's about where we are placed with the players that we have. Taylor just doesn't seem to have the ability to get the best out of our squad.

Most comments from the pundits whose opinion I would rate had us as a bottom 4 side still

If we win 6 from 8 we are in the 2nd week of the finals Steve :sunglasses:

That would be an achievement from the club as a whole in my opinion

They have already exceeded my expectations.I had them bottom three. I would let Taylor see out his contract but 2017 I would expect a top 6 finish as a minimum requirement .

Depending on recruitment that sounds good

I think ET staying or going will have a big effect on our side

We were happy to sacrifice the last couple of years to get our young players some NRL experience. How convenient of the Taylor supporters to try to lower expectations of our playing group. With the squad we have, we should be easily in the top 8\. Tedesco one of the best fullbacks going around, our halves are good, great backline, good young forwArd pack. Id say we have a better roster than Canberra, Dragons, penrith and titans (all teams above us). Its been almost 2 years and what improvements have we made. Our so called defensive guru has us running second last in defence. Players are not accountable for defence but are held accountable in attack, please lol lol. Despite all that, i will be there on sunday and rhe following week, and cheering my lungs out for a tigers win. I would give anything to havr us playing semis again, and if Taylor gets us there then lets stand up and applaud. If he doesnt then major questions have to be asked and repercussions need to take place.

Dragons and Titans yeah but no, we do not have a better roster than Canberra or Penrith. Canberra have a bloody good roster and could give things a real shake this season.

Could also argue our roster is inferior to Manly, the Roosters and Souths yet we're above all of those teams.

Yes true, but souths won the comp in 2014, roosters in2013\. Id take a 5 year premiership hangover if we could win another one. Manly is a new team and has been hammered by injuries all season. Weve pretty much had a consistent team for how long now? We should be in the top 8, i think we are good enough and have the roster to be there.

Thinking we have a better squad than the raiders and penrith explains to me why most of you posts are so far off the money. The quality of our squad represents our position on the table. Yes we have a couple of very good players, but ask yourself how many of our top 17 would get a run with either Penrith or the Raiders,,,or for that matter any other nrl team. If we had not recruited ET mid season our season would be well and truely over now.

On a bright note we have a group of kids who are making big steps and have come on in the latter half of this season

Oneill is M.I.A…the boards inaction over this saga suggest that they are happy to watch from the sidelines.

What do your want from Oneiil? We've heard from the coach and CEO.

I am just flabbergasted that the anti-JT posters are now saying that our squad should be a lot higher on the ladder than we are???

Ok we have Tedesco, Woods and Farah. Current Rep players.

Simona rates a mention. Nofo, Naiquama & Rankin? Average at best.

Moses & Brooks have both copped more flack than plaudits, this year and last.

ET, who Penrith released, is going great but a late signing anyway.

Sue, yep finally hitting his straps consistently.
Josh doing OK but not setting the world on fire.
Ava another average forward
Grant doing well seeing Souths didn't want him.
Kee Cham a reserve grader and sometime first grader.
Siro, from all reports his attitude has improved but needed to be dropped for that to happen.
Halatau, nearly retired.

I think we have over achieved so far this year tbh.

I can't see a vast improvement from here until after 2017-18 when our cap becomes manageable again.

My opinion is that our coach is doing a reasonable job, all considered. My opinion only.

Im looking at the Raiders team on paper and im looking at the panthers team on paper, and id take our roster over theirs anyday. Your kidding yourself if you think on paper we should not be beating both teams. Your also kidding yourself if you think its been a succesful season finishing 10th. If we dont make the top "9" with parra being deducted points id say it would be our worse season in a very long time. But i guess it would be hard to admit JT has failed by expecting us to play semis, how bizare.

9th would be worse than 15th last year?
And i thought steve saying Farah was playing as well as Ennis was the worst call of the year.

Last year there was no expectations on us. We had a new coach who came with new structures and a game plan, a very young halves combination with not much experience and a young team. Now you have a halves consistent halves combination with NRL experience, arguably the best fullback in the game and a pretty decent forward pack with Woods, Sue, Lawrence playing great, ET doing wonders and a backline that troubles the best of teams in attack. Anything but semi final football would be deemed a failure. On our day we can beat anyone with our roster its a pity we have a coach like JT who cant be the best out of his players.

So you think the Raiders are in 4th spot on the ladder because Ricky Stuart is such a great coach? You need to watch some Raiders games mate. That roster is stacked with talent.

Brenko Lee can't get a look into their back line but would walk into ours. Leilua and Rapana have been the most dangerous edge in the whole comp this season. Croker is a great goal kicker (except when he chokes against us) and knows how to find the try line. The combination of Papalii, Whitehead and Soliola is one of the best 2nd rows in the comp and then they have Joe Tapine on the bench who is probably better than any 2nd rower we have outside of ET. Junior Paulo, Paul Vaughn and Shannon Boyd give them plenty of go forward. Josh Hodgson and Kurt Baptiste sharing the hooking duties have both looked extremely dangerous in attack. Sezer and Austin have taken some time to gel but are starting to look good. They'll be a good combination in time with Austin's running game and Sezer's left foot kicking.

I'd say 90% or more of the RL community would disagree with your take on who has the better roster.

Id expect us to beat the raiders everytime we played them. In attack id take our backline over theirs. I also think our forwards could hold their own. The difference is Ricky Stuarts defensive structures have worked while we dont have any.
