We were happy to sacrifice the last couple of years to get our young players some NRL experience. How convenient of the Taylor supporters to try to lower expectations of our playing group. With the squad we have, we should be easily in the top 8\. Tedesco one of the best fullbacks going around, our halves are good, great backline, good young forwArd pack. Id say we have a better roster than Canberra, Dragons, penrith and titans (all teams above us). Its been almost 2 years and what improvements have we made. Our so called defensive guru has us running second last in defence. Players are not accountable for defence but are held accountable in attack, please lol lol. Despite all that, i will be there on sunday and rhe following week, and cheering my lungs out for a tigers win. I would give anything to havr us playing semis again, and if Taylor gets us there then lets stand up and applaud. If he doesnt then major questions have to be asked and repercussions need to take place.

Thinking we have a better squad than the raiders and penrith explains to me why most of you posts are so far off the money. The quality of our squad represents our position on the table. Yes we have a couple of very good players, but ask yourself how many of our top 17 would get a run with either Penrith or the Raiders,,,or for that matter any other nrl team. If we had not recruited ET mid season our season would be well and truely over now.

On a bright note we have a group of kids who are making big steps and have come on in the latter half of this season

Im looking at the Raiders team on paper and im looking at the panthers team on paper, and id take our roster over theirs anyday. Your kidding yourself if you think on paper we should not be beating both teams. Your also kidding yourself if you think its been a succesful season finishing 10th. If we dont make the top "9" with parra being deducted points id say it would be our worse season in a very long time. But i guess it would be hard to admit JT has failed by expecting us to play semis, how bizare.

Someone relinquish this guys posting privileges. Better squad than Panthers and Raiders? Nutter.

9th would be worse than 15th last year?
And i thought steve saying Farah was playing as well as Ennis was the worst call of the year.

No it was. Only marginally. But still worst call. Probably of the decade.

Must be hard convincing yourselves we have a bad roster to back up the JT can coach argument lol.

Fair enough, you don't believe the clubs stance. But why do you need buckets to front the media and repeat the same thing?

Where did i say he can coach? I'm saying he's right in dropping Farah.

People aren't saying we have a bad roster, they're saying that you're overreaching by claiming we have a better roster than the Raiders (or the Panthers for that matter). The squad is fine talent wise and could beat any team on their day. The biggest problem they have is with their consistency, their performance under pressure and their defense. Until those areas improve in the squad as a whole our talent will only take us so far, and it won't be to the level of the Raiders.

All areas a coach is hired to better. And as long as JT is the coach we wont see the best from our very talented roster. What we have on paper and what we have been dishing up every week is 2 different things.

Our very talented roster? Unfortunately I could look at most NRL teams and find at least 3 players that I would love to have in a Tigers jersey rather than who we have at the moment. Some clubs I could find half a dozen.
Is it safe to assume that those now talking about out talented roster will not be the same members that have previously posted about the form, skills and value of Broses? Will never find a post from them screaming about how we need quality centres and backrowers? Will find them arguing with those saying we need a quality goal kicking outside back, beacuse our roster as it stands, is choc full of talent.

How can you say that when this season is on about par with where we were at with Potter? And Potter had the majority of this squad. I've been seeing so much moving of the goal posts since this team improved after the Raiders flogging. Now that the team has been moving in the right direction, the bar for Taylor has to be set higher. I saw someone on another site a couple of weeks ago that anything short of the top 4 should he should be sacked, because anything less is a failure.

Please.

Just to provide some perspective - doesn't matter which side of the fence you sit or whether you think the coach is good or bad, here is some of the experts predictions for WT for 2016.
Andrew Voss - 14th
Foxsports (group writers) - 15th
The Roar (bookmakers table) - 15th
Tony Webeck, Chief Queensland Correspondent NRL.com- 15th
Chris Kennedy, National Correspondent NRL.com - 14th
Martin Gabor, National Correspondent NRL.com - 16th
Jack Brady, National Correspondent NRL.com - 16th
Dominic Brock, Production Editor NRL.com - 15th
Andy Bryan, Deputy Editor - 14th
NRL.com's combined predicted rankings for 2016 - 16th

SO EITHER WE ARE LUCKY, OR THE TEAM IS IMPROVING UNDER THIS COACH.
You could mount an argument that we could improve more under a better coach, absolutely. But you could not quantify that in any way and given where we are now, improvement under another coach would mean already in top 8 and perhaps top 6 - and even I don't believe that would be realistic!

* - These are the ones I found with a simple google search. I didn't remove any I found. I have no doubt there is more but I have stuff to do.
** - Many of the above had the top 6-8 correct, Brisbane being the overwhelming pick but that has not been the case to date.

But the bar hasnt been raised. I like the club and fhe majority of supporters expected this team to make semis from round 1\. Remember we started fhe year 2/2 and JT telling us how his new structures are now in place and working so well. We could have easily beat the team coming first the storm twice this year. And your comparing players who now have 50 or more NRL games to players under Potter who debuted. If the club or JT didnt think they had the roster to make the 8 then it wouldnt be his major KPI.

I am just flabbergasted that the anti-JT posters are now saying that our squad should be a lot higher on the ladder than we are???

Ok we have Tedesco, Woods and Farah. Current Rep players.

Simona rates a mention. Nofo, Naiquama & Rankin? Average at best.

Moses & Brooks have both copped more flack than plaudits, this year and last.

ET, who Penrith released, is going great but a late signing anyway.

Sue, yep finally hitting his straps consistently.
Josh doing OK but not setting the world on fire.
Ava another average forward
Grant doing well seeing Souths didn't want him.
Kee Cham a reserve grader and sometime first grader.
Siro, from all reports his attitude has improved but needed to be dropped for that to happen.
Halatau, nearly retired.

I think we have over achieved so far this year tbh.

I can't see a vast improvement from here until after 2017-18 when our cap becomes manageable again.

My opinion is that our coach is doing a reasonable job, all considered. My opinion only.

Look at the Titans. Their squad may not be as good as ours, but they made the 8.
Neil Henry has done wonders for the club.
To be playing finals footy consistently, you need not only a good squad but more importantly a very good coach.

So we were 2 from 2 to start the season and could have beaten the leading side twice, but this is nothing to do with the coach. When we got beaten by 60 is was the coach's fault. I think that I am working out the logic to be applied here. When good things happen, it is the outstanding talent of the playing group, and the support staff such as buckets etc.

When things go pear shaped it is all JT's fault. Seems no-one likes the pasty faced scapegoat.

When will there be a comment from the walking headline himself, Benny Elias?

This is right the zone for a classic Benny piece that the club is hopeless and is being run by fools….....yet no comment to date.

If the Tigers make the semis this year then i like many others will stand up and applaud and give him the pat on the back he deserves. If we dont mAke the semis then yes he does cop the blame and shouldnt be here next year. When Taylor put Farah on the bench and we won 2/2 i applauded him. When he changed our attacking structure and made Elijah the link to Brooks i applauded him. But surely if we can praise when he does good we can also call him out for when its not so good. Again my opinion of semis this year must not be so out of whack if both the club and do no wrong Taylor agee club should be playing semis this year.
