As mentioned, this is more a political/diplomatic buy off than having anything to do with rugby league.

Inevitably, we will be asking where the money is being spent in the next 2 to 3 years because the money will line people's pockets instead of actually helping the game there.

I do hope this is not the case and the funds go directly to the NRL and the PNG franchise to manage the funding.

I'm happy there is a PNG team playing out of PNG, but we need to ensure the opportunity is not wasted through corruption.

Having worked there for a short time PNG will never fail. Huge companies will pour millions into the club will easily be the highest in sponsorship. Overseas employees are usually in resort style compounds. The popularity of junior pathways are setup should see PNG players predominantly filling the squad.
