Who are we signing?

Here's a list of Roosters players off contract at the end of next yr. Given the relationship JT has with the players, it might not be too crazy to think we could snare one or two of these guys.

Aidan Guerra, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Samisoni Langi, James Maloney, Rhyse Martin, Dylan Napa, Frank-Paul Nuuausala, Jonathon Reuben, Jack Siejka, Nathan Stapleton, Siosiua Taukeiaho, Daniel Tupou, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves

Guerra and SKD would be nice.

I am sorry but Frank Paul is notthe player that we need to be wasting our money on. He would be another Eddy Pettybourne. No workrate and doesnt fit into the tigers mould.
Trent Merrin would be the guy we want to throw money at. Great motor…could be the Paul Gallen of the Tigers.

Personally, the way our salary cap is I would like to see the following players at Tigers next year:

Joel Riethmuller (Back row)
Chris Houston (Back Row)
Luke Capewell (back up half)
Ben Lowe.(Back row or Prop)
Brad Tighe (centre)
Adam Docker ( rate this kid highly) -maybe have a crack for 2016

Centre is the one position that we may have to buy big for. Unless some of our young guys improve rapidly over the next 2 years maybe Marion Seve is the more likely, this is where we will buy.
However the guys above are off-contract and provide value for money and experience we will lack.

Maybe JT has convinced Money Bill to have another year in the NRL

But seriously, my money is on Sam Moa and I would welcome someone, who plays with that sort of mongrel with open arms!

Flippedy,hi ,did you listen to the 2sm link re.Taylor interview.
Very interesting and he did say backrow and centres need help…
Is Moa either of these,...

No didn't listen to it TT, only just saw the thread. And yes Moa plays at prop, but I'm sure he could play the role of a damaging second rower if need be. I'm most likely off track here, but hey one can dream :stuck_out_tongue:

He's one who has certainly benefited from the <ahem>polish provided by the Roosters… I'm not sure he'd replicate his performance levels away from Bondi. Look at Martin Kennedy...</ahem>

When interviewed on 2SM tonight Taylor acknowledged that the release of Blake has left us light in that area and he would try to bring someone in to fill that gap. Taylor also reported that he would like to strengthen our options in the back row and add more depth to our centres.

This indicates that the club still has cap space to bring in new players to fill our depth requirements at second row, centre and utility. Good news.

Yes, but is there anyone decent left to purchase for next season?

Well the \mole thinks we're close to signing Merrin.

Maybe we can swap Lawrence for Merrin?

Moa is a prop, and only a prop. No way he could ever be in another position. He should have played more for the WT but Sheens didn't rate him because he was a prop who ran hard. Used to play 2 games a day as a junior. same as Jeff Lima.u20 and nsw cup.

There are plenty of players available. Hundreds in fact! Every player in the NRL is available, it's if we can convince them to play for us which is the question!

For next yr, not likely, cos how many quality players are still available in mid October? Could be clearing the decks for a massive assault for 2016 though.

Exactly , so why let go of the one of the few blokes we know who will put in week in week out and was creating chances in attack ??

Moses has a lot to live up to now , we have no back up policy to fall back on

I agree with you, Happy and I'm really ticked off about losing Austin too, but holding onto a player against his wishes would not serve him, or the team, well at all.

I really hope they have something up their sleeve for next year, something we're not privy to as CB said. If not, it's going to be a very long season, imo and we'll all be wanting 2016 to hurry up and come along - much like we were wanting this season to end quickly.

My point is Flip that in my opinion is Austin is the No 1 choice at 6 and Moses should have to win the jersey from him

But it is very obvious that Austin has been told otherwise

So much for people having to earn their jersey

We have been promised change , but all we have so far is smoke and mirrors

Same ol same ol

Austin said that he does not want to play for the Weststigers and wants to go to Canberra. Do you get it???

He asked to be released, not the club.

You want to keep a player that does not want to be here??

If the club refused to release Austin and Gavet you would no doubt drop crap on the club for it's decision.

Some people are never happy.

I do get it Col

No I'm not happy about it

Our CEO said only a few short weeks ago that he was going nowhere

Remember that ??

Well as usual that proves to be more BS

But the way you whinging about me whinging , that the pot definitely calling the kettle black

Who is the one who whinges every time someone talks about Potter

Seriously Col , you'd have to be the biggest hypocrite on this Forum bar none

Get over yourself

Called our bluff with the 2016/17 signing with Raiders, what is the point of further developing a guy who is on his way out regardless.

When did Princey make the call? That was a bittersweet year watching him run around, knowing he was off to Gold Coast.

What's going to make him put in if the season is on the line and the chips are down?
