Who do we offload?

Agreed..

I hope they take it the NRL. If I was rich I'd support them.

750k? + 640 out of our cap? Why isn't that spread over 4 years?

Manly only paid a small proportion of their fine st the end. God this game annoys me.

Imagine that. The NRL have a 4 team comp, the Roosters, Broncos, Storm and Penrith (my 4 most hated teams), plus I'll give them a fifth team, which is wherever M Moses is playing. The new league brand has the rest, plus a few new teams and is managed by smart operators where everything is transparent. Anyway, just pinched myself and woke up.

Greenburg has said the ARLC has asked for cap breach penalties to be increased…we're lucky first cab off the rank, lets see if theyre consistent
LOL..''consistent, NRL''...in the same sentence..hilarious

Effectively though doesen't this mean we are only fined $110k as we pay $750k but save paying $640k

Still the sacking of our CEO and ruining ur season is ridiculous

I don't think you're correct about the 'net' fine. As money spent by clubs on the cap comes from a grant by the NRL I'd imagine the NRL will reduce the grant to WT in 2019 by $639k. The more I think about it, however, the more I think the final penalty will look quite different from the original. Assuming for the sake of the argument WT can't produce evidence to disprove the NRL's position I think the fine will still be reduced by suspending part of it. I still think WT will fight this very hard and could even consider going outside NRL processes into the conventional judicial system. I hope they do.

You can add NRL and Integrity in that category too.

We've been bent over twice in 1 off season. First the rules about coach poaching change AFTER it's happened to us, and now this crap. It really is a miracle that this game somehow keeps ticking along with the gross incompetence that leads it.

Okay, from today's drama I have decided to take it expecting the worst, so in saying that I think we should be prepared for the worst case scenario

A few players I think we might have to offload include, fonua, nofo, or Taylor
Also if worst comes to worst, benji and farah, could offer to cut their contract and retire "early".

This is purely based off my opinion

You've got no idea. We don't have a full roster as it currently stands so we won't be offloading anyone unless there are extenuating circumstances (Musgrove).

Rightly or wrongly i am begining to think there is a lot more than just "incompetence" behind this decision. There is a foul smell coming from the NRL, as the old saying goes "a fish rots from its head"

When Wests Tigers pay the CAP fine I wonder how much, if any, will still be left to buy players for 2019?

A fine **AND** including the $639k deal under the 2019 cap.

The reports say that we have not spent the entire cap.

So it looks like we're going to need to offload one of our better players to fit under the 2019 cap.

Article posted by willow in other topic says we had $700k left in the cap for 2019\. The cap hit is $639k and if isnt reduced I can't see us adding anyone else for the 2019 season.

Please explain to me why Sharks clearly do something wrong and have been in trouble for a few years now get a 800k fine but…. Tigers make an arrangement with a player after his playing career and we get fined 750k PLUS 690K off our salary cap this year PLUS lose our CEO... This does not makes sense to me at all..
Also if robbie keeps the job for lets say 10 years do we have to have him in our CAP for this period? Do Roosters have Mini in their cap? Of course they dont?/?
I just don't understand how this is in the Salary cap for a person not even playing and retired... SOmeone help explain this to me

This is making my blood boil....

x 2

Interesting to see what the penalty will be Hayne/Walker/DeBellin/Musgrove etc. if they're found guilty. Will the NRL penalise domestic violence as harshly as they have for salary cap fraud? (if we're guilty that is).

I am 100% up for the NRL punishing clubs harshly for Salary cap fraud.

So when is Scott Penn Resigning? They were fined 250k off their cap! When police were called?

I mean hey I get it, it's a sweetener. So what did Melbourne offer Smith to play this year? Also how much will Smith be on in 2020 doing a desk job there? When he is a community ambassador for 300K per year will the auditors act against the Storm?

Nah

It's clear, it's a signal to move.

So Todd pack your bags to WA and start setting up the WA Jets!
