Who has been our best signing ??

This is obviously about who we have signed since Cleary took over, so no need for another silly selection of the coach. Also don't see it as a best value for money question, simply best for the team thus far.

Toss up Marshall/Packer. I went Marshall for the game nous and control but could easily have gone Packer for leadership and go forward.

Matulino needs more love.

Has really laid the platform and tightened things up

I reckon he is a great player.

My picks are as follows:-

1\. Thompson
2\. Benji
3\. Packer
4\. Matulino

1 & 2 are neck an neck as are 3 and 4.

Our forwards look a lot better with Packer and Matulino being backed up by Eisenhuth and Twal. I also think we could play JJ and Sue as well and not lose much.

I think our best signing has actually been the 'non-signing' of Woods, Tedesco and Moses.
The money that freed up has allowed us to have much stronger depth and more quality across the team as a whole. We now also have a group of players willing to put the team first instead of self-centred players with inflated egos.
Replacing Woods with Packer and Matulino has been fantastic.

Also, we no longer have all our eggs in one basket. Look at the Roosters, all their money on big name players but balanced out by having forwards that if they were with us would be playing off the bench in ISP.

Best: 1.Packer. 2.Rochow. 3.Thompson. 4.Benji. 5.Matulino.

Not the best: McQueen, Fonua, Milne.

Hard to argue with that, Thompson, Benji and Rochow are value buys who are playing above their pay rate, Milne has been a big disappointment, I had high hopes for him.
McQueen hasn't looked great but he is coming back from injury, and Fonua looked good on the weekend and could easily take MWZ spot.

Just watched NRL 360\. They were talking Tigers , obviously mentioned what Ivan has brought to the club. But there was a comment about Kelly Egan being active in recruitment. They were saying he was out there approaching the players with the qualities Ivan wanted. They also mentioned Ivan doesn't pay overs. If the player he wants, wants $200K over what Ivan had tabled he will let them go. Interesting seeing that we were close with Conner Watson, possibly Barba and a few others.

Went with Twal. We loose nothing when he comes on which is a great position to be in. Could have easily gone packer, mats, Benji or Thomson

Went Twal as well but was hard to pick. The fact we plucked him out of reserve grade and he has stood up so well did it for me. His value coming on after Packer and Matulino go off is enormous for us.

Packer easily the best signing it’s obvious he is the leader of this team.

Thompson is the best value signing though he has been outstanding great pace, balance and match awareness. Smart player.

It’s amazing that we have so many new players playing above their weight. Our forward pack has never looked so good, and for that we can thank packer the leader of our pack. Rochow has been phenomenal as has mautilino.

In the backs I can’t believe how good Marshall has been, especially his kicking game. Thompson what a revelation.

And the biggest one of all is Cleary. He recruited this team, and while many had doubts, he has proven to be correct so far.

Why is Cleary not on the list?

Makes it a false survey imo.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here Russ , but thinking Ivan won't be coming out of retirement any time soon

But yes he has been one of our best signings , possibly ever

Yeah McQueen is way behind our NrL second rowers, id offload him if we can…Milne wasn’t even in ISP over the weekend, not sure what happened to him, Fonua seems to lack the discipline Cleary seeks...

My best has been Rochow, really surprised how well he is playing

I voted Twal… He's a stud.

However packer and Thompson are carving up and deserves all the votes they're getting.
