Who here actually supports Western Suburbs in the KOE NSW Cup?

Here are the List of Clubs that are Token as they dont have NRL representation.

Bears, Jets, Workers and Magpies

Missing Brands appear to be Wests Tigers, Manly, Cronulla and someone else.

My Pref is Tigers as the next generation will be more engaged especially as we improve, but I can live with magpies for now.
Nah only those 3 are the missing brands. The Bears in this case really don’t count as they haven’t had a first grade side since 99, unless you count the merger with Manly then 02 and since then the Bears have formed partnerships with other clubs to have a reserve grade for that club at the time. But for Manly’s case while they are Blacktown Workers and not Manly they are still called the Sea Eagles which is their first grade side emblem just not called Manly, so they have better representation compared to the Wests Tigers and Cronulla Sharks that go by 2 different names completely. So out of 13 teams 9 of them go under the same name as the first grade side with 3 of them being a different name and 1 that technically no longer has a first grade side, just a reserve grade team that partners up with another first grade team which for now is Melbourne. When majority of the teams are the same as the first grade side, we should be doing that as well. Not go by a club that’s not played first grade since 99.

I've never met a Magpie that wasn't a good bloke, human and winged included.
The magpie that hangs around my backyard with his family can bark like the dog next door. Bloody brilliant they are.
Shame the football team doesn’t have the same ability to mimic some of the better performing mascots.

Pretty sure next (this) season the Sea Eagles are back in KOE and the Workers are to Massey.

I wish I could decipher that post. There might be some gold in that one?

How does playing 3 grades on game day send the council broke?

Are you some kind of grounds keeper Merlot?

Is James on your crew?
No one could ever work out what James Reyne was singing about so I'm guessing that both he and Merlot learnt their communication skills at the same place. 🤣

Don't think James Reyne was ever a groundsman, not sure about Merlot.

Never been swooped by a maggie but had a Butcher Bird give me a bad time this last breeding season.

The bugger was relentless, come the end of the day they are related to the maggies.
I was walking through the bush to get to a surfing spot living up here once and this smallish bird was making a racket then swooped from behind and knocked my sunnys off and cut me the nasty little barstard avoided that track till the end of spring.

Here's a tip. If you feed your local magpies they won't swoop you.
Magpies can remember faces for 7 years. An act of kindness doesn't go unnoticed by them.
They only swoop perceived threats, they don't do it for the hell of it.
I'm on a few acres so have a couple of mobs that I interact with.

The mob in my front paddock has never bothered us. They bathe in waste water from our aerated water treatment system during summer and hang around our back deck year round (including shitting on my bar at times).

About three years ago a new mob establisehd itself in our top paddock and started a turf war with the existing mob. The originl mob has establised a boundary just outside of the house paddock to protect us from the new mob. They appear to think of us as part of their mob.

The mob in the top paddock swooped me for two seasons but I simply wandered around doing my business waving a stick around as required. I had to do some fence repairs up there last year, out of season, and since then they have not bothered me or any of the family. But they still attack the horse and bike riders that venture along the bordering road - keeps me entertained from the back deck.

The boundary dispute between the two mobs still rages and the aerial combat skills and snapping of beaks on tail feathers is great to watch with a cold and frothy on a summer afternoon. Very entertaining.

Magpies typically pair off and claim territory for themselves.
The mobs that you have are juveniles that have been kicked out of home by mum and dad and now congregate together until they can find an available female and real estate.
If you lose the stick, feed them and treat them with kindness the other group will leave you alone as well.
Something must've spooked them in the first place. Maybe a piece of machinery you were using etc.
They're bloody smart birds and quick learners. If you show them you mean no harm you'll be able to walk wherever you want.
In my local area there's two magpie warning signs placed by council after both lads were swooping people. Neither bird bothers me after I fed them.

Pehaps the mob in the top paddock were kicked out but the bottom mob are a family that have been here for longer than we have. We have watched the kids turn from white into juveniles and then go on their merry way. Not so sure of the top mob and where they have extended their boundary from. Definitely feeding is the way to overcome their agressive behaviour. Slaching the paddock is probably what spooked the top mob when they first arrived.
