Who is our most overrated?

Both Brooks and Marsters have regressed. Packer appears to lack punch again since starting (thought he was far more effective off the bench.) Mbye has been extremely disappointing this year.

One player that I cannot ever overrate is Corey Thompson. He's not flashy but he just does everything right. A very solid footballer and should be resigned ASAP.

Agree totally

@Russell An average, honest toiler at best.

Would not make many other sides in the NRL.

We have a team full of these players and that is the problem.

Brooks,
I praised him a few weeks ago but he's just awful at taking the right option, his kicking is rubbish, his ability to actually take control on the last play is awful, his persistent flat ball to the lead runner is just premeditated brain dead Footy.

If I see him hit his lead runner again who has a brick wall of defence in his face I'll smash my TV to bits!!

I don't know how many times that he should play out the back because we've created a half chance yet he dishes it to Garner flat (makes me pull my hair out)

Brooks actually gave me a glimpse of hope a few weeks back, I actually thought he'd turned a corner, but now I understand I was wrong.
So I'll say this again, which I've said many times.

We will do ZERO as long as Brooks is our 7!!!

Ok I'll join IF you can put up 1 viable half who isavailable that will get us to the finals...all well and good to say punt this guy punt that guy but no one ever offers the option that they are to be replaced with
Remembering the Club only wanted Brooks re-signed for 3 years ..Maguire stepped in and uped it to 4so he must think it was possiible to play finals unless he is just another nuff nuff coach who has no clue and knows less than all of us..

Ill wait...

I don't have a solution unfortunately.

The thread asked who our most overrated player was and I answered who I thought it was.

Brooks keeps talking about how he now knows it's HIS team but he doesn't play like it is and I know people hate Moses but he's playing like the team is his, he's taking control and taking on the opposition, I'm not sure if Brooks has it in him to do that.

Brooks.
Don't know who to replace him with but IMO Brooks keeps proving he can't organise the team and make the decisions under pressure. I'm sure he looks like at superstar at training and doing drills. Brooks goes well when Benji is calling the shots. Mbye also looks like there is no urgency to anything he does. But then what do i know.

I’ll give you one who is off contract... Mitchell Moses. He can bring Gutherson with him and we are a different team.

@851 I would hate to see that brat back in Tigers colours. Not that I think for one moment he would want to come back. He is an absolute tool.

It's professional sport, not a popularity contest.
I don't think anyone is wanting him back. They are just pointing out he is better than Brooks. He is.
Anyone can see Moses is far better regardless of his personality.

@matchball It is professional - agree Matchball.

However is it professional to tank?

Don't think so. Those people saying he is a tool - are being kind.

Hard to have a go at any players tanking when we get flogged 51-6.
Moses was not wanted by our club. His response then was immature and he has been copping it ever since.
On Monday he returned serve.

You have a very short memory!!!

@bathursttiger I didn't say I like the bloke or condone his actions, but he is a winner who gets the job done, our current 7 is nowhere near his standard

Moses is the only player in the game who I’d be tempted to spit on if I ever saw him walking down the street.

Are we talking about the Moses who played in the halves for the wooden spooners last year ? The Moses who the Parra fans were calling for to be sacked in 2018; who gave their fans a season full of garbage displays.

He's a flake; a flat track bully. He proved last year he doesn't have the mental strength to cope with adversity. He blames his team mates when things are not going well. He is not a team man.

@fibrodreaming Look, I don't like the guy either but he is still a better player than Brooks at the end of the day.

He has improved dramatically but Brooks is still stuck in the "potential" category.

A couple of things that i noticed on Monday that Moses played behind a forward that totally dominated our pack.
Parra's gained about 10 meters post contact on every tackle, which meant that they were in our Red zone nearly every 5th tackle.
This allowed Moses to look good.
Our forwards were tackled out of the game, which left Brooks and Grub last tackle option just inside their attacking half.
Yes Brooks had a shocker of a game, but there would not be too many Halves that would have looked good behind that pack on Monday.

@matchball nobody is saying he hasn't improved, they are questioning his mental capability when things arent so rosy. Its easy to shine when the team goes well, as Moses did in 2017 and Parra were top 4. He showed he still has the same spots though in 2018 when times got tough and he abused everyone including the gear steward for poor performance. So far in 2019 Parra are performing well, but they are a 3 or 4 game losing streak away from a possible Moses detonation.

For the record, i have ALWAYS thought Moses was better, but he is also the only player in the NRL in my 40 odd years of following footy that i have seen turn it up and simply stop trying. For that alone, id rather wee razor blades for the rest of my life than ever give him the honour of wearing our colours again.
