Who is the 2018 signing you are looking forward to watch.

A fit and healthy Ben Matulino. Very similar to Jesse Bromwich, just has to stay on the field. Having Tui sniffing around the ruck will be great to watch too (as opposed to Teddy only popping up when Woodsy has the ball).

As Ivan alluded to in the Q&A session, no one is going to replace Tedesco, which means that the way the team will play next year will be different.
So that will be interesting - to see how Cleary structures our play around the strengths of the players we do have.
Tui, could be absolutely anything - with a slightly re-jigged playing style from the team, and potentially a much more consistent and effective go forward from the big boppers up front, I'm really looking forward to the results.

I get the feeling Tui will play in a role like Hogo did. He will spend a lot of his time up in the line as first or second receiver playing a bit like a second no6\. Okay Teddy spent a lot of time in the line, but he played more of a one out sort of game relying on blistering acceleration
 
I'm thinking outside the box . . . . we know how good Mats, Packer and Tui, etc are or can be. I'm itching to see how Gamble goes. He's relatively unknown, but if he goes well, all of a sudden a lot of the jigsaw drops into place.
 
Everyone keeps saying how hard it is to replace Tedesco - that's true, like for like, but we are replacing one very good player with two good players based on the money Tedesco knocked back here.

As good a player as he is, he is only good value at a team like the Roosters who don't pay full wages into a salary cap. He won't be listed as $1.2M on the Roosters salary cap but it will be made up with TPIs. Ditto Woods.

So it made sense for Ivan to let Tedesco and Woods go to strengthen the roster.

Having said that, losing them certainly doesn't worry me because we have achieved absolutely squat in all the years they've played here. Good bye and good luck, sincerely.
 
I think Lolo will be used as primarily a ball playing fullback ala Boyd and Slater rather than just a running fullback ala Tedesco.
Im looking forward to seeing him come out of his shell and dominate games giving runners a third option to hit holes off.
 
Sorry, in regards to the topic, I am interested firstly to see how Reynolds goes outside of the Bulldog's bubble.

Secondly, I am curious if any/all of the debutants improve further to become first grade regulars. Twal and Eisenhuth played well this year filling in for injuries but next year it starts again with a healthy roster and new players. Ditto Marsters and Suli with the added competition for spots.

Packer and Mats a brutal front row that hopefully bashes opposition forwards. This will be a change from our lightweight timid forwards of years past.

Seriously though Twal and Eisenhuth. (Ok I know that they are signed end of 2017, but I want to see them perform).
 
I think how Tui performs will have the biggest affect on our season, Hopefully he'll add another option inside the oppositions 20.

But mostly I cant wait to see Benji in the colours again.

I think most interesting will be Reynolds.
but like jrtiger, i am looking forward to Taane Milne. i think he is a really good buy and i hope he can really fire for the tiges next year.

i don't classify Tui as a 2018 signing, but very high hopes for him next year.
 
The replacement front row in Matulino and Packer. How Reynolds gels with Brooks/Marshall will also go a long way to determining our season.
 
Matulino will take the forum by storm imo. Really looking forward to see if Reynolds can re-invent himself away from tired old Dessie. I'm excited about Packer too, he'll be the hit man our pack has never had. I also get the feeling that one of the lesser signings like Thompson or Milne could turn out to be a gem. We have a knack of these kinds of signings. Taupau, Austin, JAC, McIllwrick etc. Sometimes all a player needs is a chance.
