A diabolical choice - typical Tigers.

Who’s a diabolical choice ?

imo - Cayless or Flanagan.

Cayless was part of the roosters at some point which would be a great place to learn your straps, other than that I don’t know much about him. Highly doubt you’ll see Flanagan here

If the Tigers got off to a bad start ....Flanagan would have a head coaching role ....I reckon he is mad if he doesn't take the role myself ....

Mm there’s a whisper going around that no club will touch him still due to his past indiscretions, not even us

My opinion ...I reckon Madge was told in his final stay of execution that he was going to be working with Sheens and the strongest assistant coach they could get ...and if you ignore Flanagan's flaws ...he is the best assistant on the market .....suppose it depends if we still have a no DH policy still ....

Flanagan is rubbish as well as being a disgrace. He should not be allowed anywhere near our club.

I don't think Flanagan is a rubbish coach, I think he's a very good coach. He's a disgrace though, absolutely no arguments there.

He’s a rubbish coach. Could only achieve results using chemical substances. Terrible way to coach. Horrible.

Didn’t the doping happen in 2012

2011 lol.

Their premiership win had nothing to do with doping.

Flanagan's sentence was finite. There is no commutation for WTs' fans although hope is on the horizon from the UK and new assistants.

I don't care if his sentence was finite, some consequences for your actions are life long. Risking people's health to win football games loses you respect and your chance to be in positions where you are responsible for people's health.

The NRL has a different view. You're entitled to your view and to express it. There are many stories of redemption, Michael Coutts-Trotter being one of the most recent and high profile. I say well done to him and to others with the courage to face their wrong doing and rebuild.

He didn't accept responisbility, in fact he did the the opposite and breeched his suspension and got deregistered, has he come out and admitted fault? Why does he deserve a chance to adversely effect the health of others.

And some consequences have longer lasting effects after the punishment is served. That is where Flanno finds himself now.

I think that there is almost 0% of him trying anything like that again. If he did he would looking for a street sweeper's job.

Sounds like it's Cayless or Flanagan. From those 2 I'd rather Cayless. A younger assistant would be good with Sheens and Maguire already here.

As others have said, I don't really want Flanagan near the club.

Race down to two as Tigers search for Maguire’s right-hand man

The Wests Tigers have narrowed down their options to two as they look to appoint a senior assistant coach to support the newly re-signed Michael Maguire.
With the club confirming last month that Maguire would be kept on as coach, they’re hoping to put an experienced head alongside him as they strive to make their first finals series in a decade.
According to The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio, that race is down to Cronulla premiership coach Shane Flanagan and Sydney assistant Nathan Cayless.
“It’s an intriguing one, certainly for the future of Michael Maguire going forward next year,” Riccio said.
“Nathan Cayless who was with the Sydney Roosters with Trent Robinson, he’s in the frame, so too is Shane Flanagan.
“There are several elements of that Wests Tigers board that see the résumé of Shane Flanagan, he’s a premiership winner and his consistent finals appearances with the Sharks is major for the Tigers.
“I expect a decision at the end of this week between those two.”
Cayless spent 2021 as a member of Robinson’s Roosters staff, while Flanagan took the season off to work in the media.
Reports suggest he is keen to re-enter the coaching fold.
The decision comes after Tim Sheens put pen to paper as the club’s new director of football.
