For everyone that says they don’t want Cayless, can you tell me why 😂 no one knows his credentials or what he’ll bring to the team.

He's a parra loser.

Because he's Madge's assistant coach for NZ. Madge got to choose the first two assistants, and they were both yes men that couldn't do the job. Time to look elsewhere imo.

Very happy with Gardiner though, thought he did some really good things with the KOE team.

NZ have done decent under Madge though, maybe with both of them there we could finally land some talent from the team.

Why? Madge has been here 3 years and he’s landed nothing from the NZ team. Don’t see Cayless making a difference. We’d be far better off getting Dean Pay, we don’t need any more yes men.

We got ken m ?

What makes you think Dean Pay wouldn’t be a yes man? Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to have him but if he were so great he’d be somewhere by now. Been a ton of coaching staff changes all over the league since he got sacked

Because he's not already an assistant coach to Madge and Pay isn't the type to take crap from anyone. Our defence was horrible last year and we need someone who is a good defence coach to fix it. Sheens isn't known as a defence coach and Madge clearly has no idea, so it's important to get someone who knows how to coach defence. Pay knows how.

Nah, Jason Cayless.

He was great when he played for us.

???

Yeah, sure.

Shane Flanagan has withdrawn interest in assisting Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire.

Please be true. Best result is to not have this person anywhere near our players.

I assume it is. Got his shire mate to do the spin for him

Nathan Cayless is a good future coach and a nice guy. It was many years ago but I played school boy footy against him and in some rep teams.
Unfortunate he’s an eel tbh and I never like playing against parramatta Marist they were a great side back then. He has good wraps on him.

It makes more sense Madge is experienced he doesn’t need help coaching they need someone who can help the team train and relate more closely with the players. Madge is proven with great sides Wigan, Souths, NZ but he seems to struggle with dealing with players not up to it.

Yeah I just read the article said he turned down the offer. More like it was never offered to him in the first place.

Umm Gardiner was also a Maguire appointment..

I think players not up to it don't like being told they are not up to it. Glad Madge has done his job and told them, it's about time someone did.

Doesn't want the job or Tigers decieded to go in a different direction and the media is chosing to spin it as Flanno turned us down?

So what's the feel as for assistant coaches now ? Cayless and Henry or someone left of field like a Dean Pay or Adrian lam?

I really like Dean Pay but I think it will be Cayless.
