Sorry McDougall, Bell was way off the pace in defence and let in two tries from poor lateral movement.Thought Luani was better tonight, Iosefa is a pork chop and should not be resigned and as much as i love Fulton tonight he was off his game.

does benji get put down for a try assist, for the pass he threw across field and Mitchell Pearce got it and ran some distance and scored? :unamused:

Mmm I can accept that if you are using a sliding ratings system based on games played. Luani 2 games in in a flogged side, yeah okay maybe he didn't suck. Certainly don't see him as a first grader though.

Bell … hmm average. Maybe.

This is how we choose Round 1, 2014 team. If you were good against the best team in the NRL you get a spot. If you sucked, you're gone.

Tedesco
Richards
Nofoaluma
Simona
Tuqiri
Sironen
Brooks
Galloway
Farah
Woods
Paterson
Murdoch-Masila
Halatau

Seumanufagai
Gavet
Taupau
Bell

That's a team that probably won't suck.

Sorry I forgot Ayshford was already going.

Being a bit hard on Blair!

And Matt bell had a few costly errors.

_Posted using RoarFEED 2013_

Blair
9 hitups for 63 metres, 15 tackles, 2 offloads, 1 penalty conceded

Bell
9 hitups for 88 metres, 24 tackles, 0 offloads, 0 penalties conceded

Bell made a bad missed tackle but I bet if you rewatch that Blair was guilty of arm grabbing a lot that led to tries from long range line breaks.

I may have to watch it again because I thought Blair's work off the ball was again our best. I also thought that we really tightened up once he came back on during the middle of their scoring blitz. He couldn't do much about James leaving the kick or the aspiring All Black passing to the son of a legend, but he at least helped in stopping them running amok.

Unlike a lot of other players, instead of flapping around like a fish out of water when tackled, he actually uses effort to get to his feet and always gets a quick play the ball. When he is not on the field, opposition kickers get just about a free rein as no one else in our team puts as much effort in that area of the game either. Statistics only tell half the story.

He really is a good player hey. I love how he goes searching for work. One time he took a hit up from right centre! His injuries have really cost him 2 good years. This is the first time I've seen him play without that cast on his arm so his arm must be totally better. Not rushing back could have given him another season tbh.

Aren't we glad that Iosefa played

How many missed tackles 8 ,9 ??

Hopefully that's the last time we experience that idea

Yeah that's right Happy. I just can't remember who his secret admirer was on this forum.

Luani's first stint was very good.

He couldn't get rhythm when he came back on

Its Luani's 2nd game and its against the best team in the comp. you can't expect him to come out and be one of our best players. he did alright i thought but needs time

Agreed, though I also thought we were better when Blair was on the field.

Our left edge worked the best that it has all year, with a winger that understands how to work with his centre in defence not making me nervous every time the play goes towards them. They teamed up well in attack too, with livewire Tim showing that he is a centre that can also wing it, and BMM finally showing some energy in stating his claim for a permanent role.
