Probably closer than a most would think . The young fellas would lift for a one off game Make it 4 quarter football and I would give the NYC side a chance . But to make it fair shouldn't the NYC get all players who are eligible Woods for example

The first grade crew would put together an 80 minute game, for sake of embarrassment, and I think would run out comfortable victors, with all their tried being scored around the edges.

As spirited as that U/20 team is, Lawrence, Ayshford, Tuqiri, Ryan, Moltzen and Mckinnon would have a field day.

Hehe, funny to see these responses…

This is exactly my point... a lot of people on here are bitching and moaning that our team is crap and we have basically a bunch of muppets on the field, with no spirit, passion, and not the required skill to win.

Do the NYC team have the passion that FG doesn't have?
Maybe... but let's face it - that's all..

All you haters out there, quit your whinging and get with the program - our FG team is streaks ahead of anything else we have NOW. "Blooding" x, y and z should only be neccessary when we know we're out of the 8 - until then BACK YOUR TEAM ffs.

Gee, somebody should tell the Storm that players from the NYC are overrated. I think they have 5 or 6 players in their team from that division. Where are they running exactly?

Ok I'll bite. You've obviously missed the point. The OP was referring to CURRENT u/20s players. The majority of players start in NYC so obviously they can eventually make first grade standard.

Which of the Storm NRL team below which played this weekend is still eligible for NYC?

1\. Billy Slater
2\. Matthew Duffie
3\. Dane Nielsen
4\. Maurice Blair
5\. Sisa Waqa
6\. Gareth Widdop
7\. Cooper Cronk
8\. Jesse Bromwich
13\. Ryan Hinchcliffe
10\. Bryan Norrie
11\. Adam Blair
12\. Kevin Proctor
15\. Sika Manu

9\. Cameron Smith
14\. Rory Kostjasyn
16\. Adam Woolnough
17\. Jaiman Lowe

Drewby I can see the point your trying to make but it is thoroughly ill concieved and pointless.

No one on here is suggesting we should replace the first grade side with the NYC team.

What people, me included, are saying is that it seems that 5 or 6 current NYC players on top of the few we already have will be regulars in the top side next year.

Is this the best outcome for Wests Tigers? Hopefully Blair is coming but geeze I'd like to see him bring a few mates with him because a side dominated by 18 or 19 year olds wont be competitive for the entire 26 rounds.

people are suggesting whole sale sackings of the NRL team, replacing them with kids….. i get his point.

People are talkig about selecting James Tedesco, the kid looks awesome but is a 17yo kid who has only played half a dozen games of NYC.
we need some perspective.

Hey it might be an exaggeration of sorts, but I think my point is made…

I've matched the boys up to a certain extent against those they'd be supposedly replacing... and you have to take a balanced approach - do the young ones, against their seniors really have the "all round" game to be able to allow them to take the spot?

A little perspective and level-headedness wouldn't go astray...

P.S. I still say get rid of Lui lol
