Marsters was absolutely crap last season.
Matterson was great, but I can see LL also adding a heap of attacking options.

He said no to a million then accepted 400k? Even the Broncos would be jealous of that tall tale. Anyway, in hindsight glad we didn't get him. Would much rather the Leulua brothers (and Doueihi) over Mitchell or Matterson and Marsters.

Yes, I guess you're right. This thread just reminded me of WT trying to get him, and then landing BJ. I think we got the better deal based on attitude alone.

I love the Leiluas. I reckon Luc is heaps better on an edge than Matterson. Clearly BJ is heaps better than Marsters. Matterson would slot into 13 for us and do a great job.

We are much improved with the Leiluas over Matterson and Marsters.

No contest - 50-60% improvement with Lucy and BJ.

Unfortunately, I think Lucy gets forgotten a bit because of BJ standing out more in the backs. He certainly gets forgotten in articles and comments (even from Madge) when they are talking about off season recruits. Most of the time he didn't even get mentioned.

Personally think Lucy is a massive signing, so much more to offer than Matterson on the edge and will prove it as the seasons go by.

Not sure as yet and mostly because we have both brothers now. I was happy to swap Matterson for Lucy as we needed some more impact on the right edge and have the players to cover for Ryan's workload. Now that we have signed BJ, he should provide enough impact on his own, so maybe Matterson could have been of more value.

That said, Ryan didn't want to be here and Marsters was not seen as fulfilling our wants, so the Leilua brothers it is.
