Why is Fulton so well regarded?

Def did that well. Has a strong record with some of their pathways players.

VS

He also recruited Kelma Tuilagi from us...one of the worst defensive backrowers ever. They then leaked points down his edge whenever Tuialgi played.
And paid big bucks for garlic sauce and the wonderkid 800K Schuster and 2 million for the turbos a year

His sister??? Ok. Now that makes sense.
I'm thinking she should get some credit "(Kristie) Fulton was the manager of elite pathways at the Sea Eagles until late last year when she was sacked by the club during the rainbow jersey controversy that crippled the team and contributed to the Sea Eagles missing the finals."

Buzz and Hadley would not say a bad word about a Fulton no matter what. He is basically family to them.
Lee actually spoke to Ray Hadley about Fulton to get advice on hiring him (Hadley admitted himself that he had the phone conversation) because Lee supposedly knew very little about him.

As you have said, Hadley was best mates with Bob Fulton and is very close to the family, so of course he gave a glowing reference for the son.

Shame Lee didn't have time to run it past Sheens who no doubt would have objected to the idea, but that is beside the point, so I guess that in the end it was decided that the most expedient way to go about things was to go behind the Sheenius' back.

Don't get me wrong, I don't really have an opinion on McDonnell leaving, he seems to do it on a regular basis here, but gee, talk about meddling with the football department.

I didn’t know he was well regarded. Certainly the Fulton name has opened a few doors for him.
hasn’t done anything yet for us that I am aware of.
hope he does something soon we need 2 halfs and centre Or 2
I'm puzzled and annoyed he released Ofahengaue without replacing his Roster spot but I'm prepared to give him 1 year before I judge his Recruitment/Retention. McDonnell had more than one stint and more than enough time to prove he's not great at it.

Usually with a key employee either Pascoe or Hagipantelis would have made an announcement, which in turn would have given us some idea behind the reasons for his hiring. Because Hagipantelis admits to knowing nothing about Fulton leads me to think that it was others on the board making that decision.

Interesting that Lee had to ask Justin (on a podcast) whether he had ever met Scott prior to his employment offer. You would think that would have been known at that point?! But nothing surprises me with that pair.
Lee says the board had an opportunity land in their lap and had to make a hasty judgement call. The secrecy surrounding the operation was necessary for such a delicate manoeuvre because Scott was employed by Manly at the time and there was the increasing danger of alerting those who may have risked derailing such a precision extraction and crossing of the harbour.
Is it possible that we could be going full Fulton on this ? Is there another Fulton preparing to take over from Benji?
I can understand completely, why Maguire rejected the offer from the Dragons.

Cmon that's normal.

Hey in your X year career, have you ever met Scott Fulton?
"yes we knew each other at Manly/Penrith because we met in junior leagues and formed a good friendship"?
OR
"No we have never crossed paths".

An example, we interviewed for a person.. were a team of 4. The two interviewers go way off script and start mentioning internal workers including Samantha. Interviewee goes "is that Samantha Fortiscue? I know her". Total Mic drop! As it was 100% random that in this team of 4 a candidate knew the person in our team. (this is kinda before linkedin where cyberstalking would occur).

He would have asked him earlier, but he was self promoting on a radio show commenting on recruitment efforts and shifting blame again
