I really don't think you have been following my posts…The pack has got owned in the last 3 weeks something that was not happening in the earlier Rounds yet a lot of fans solution is to drop Nofoaluma...

so it was a go with the flow post...lol

Sorry Geo, I think I missed the dry humour. Our forwards have definitely been owned and the dropping of a winger is not going to help much…

No ones arguing our forwards haven't been owned

The point still comes down to Benji looking at the next play and making it profitable

Not creating a miracle play when nothing is on , Warriors were smart they were covering the grubber kick early in the count

Benji needs to be smart , look for an option that will get a quick play the ball for the next play

And if it was Gamble you'd could excuse it , Benji's in his 15th season

You can't waste those chances , especially when you aren't getting many quality ones

Even Benji's kick offs were lazy arse efforts …
Needs a reality check and has to be dropped for the Leichhardt game

And no one's arguing that Benji's recent efforts haven't been rubbish. The original point of this conversation was that, on last night's performance, Nofa doesn't deserve to be dropped….

Well, when your 5/8 kicks on the first tackle when we're 15 metres from their line, I think you can see why people aren't happy with him.

This kick sums up B Marshall!!!!!!!! !!!
End of story!!!!!!!!!!
Dumbest thing I’ve seen ….....EVER!!!!!

I'm sure this would of been talked about in team meetings this week. When defending their goal line on tackles 1-3/4, rts defends in the line leaving the warriors open to the kick behind. No one cleaning up in the in goal. Should be a try most times. It was the execution and how telegraphed it was for green to read that was a major problem. The idea came from a weakness in the warriors game plan

Maybe that's true. However, the chases were Tim Grant and Robbie Rochow. I'm not sure it was planned.

not defending the execution of the kick ks. This tactic of the warriors has been talked about here in nz for a couple of weeks and how it is open for exploiting…sometimes these odd looking things done in a game have a reason behind them

It is a common defensive pattern that has more pluses than minuses. The opposite of Benji's kick.

It's simple really.

Benji the last month is doing all the same garbage that saw me cheering his exit from the club all those years ago.

Also he keeps over calling Brooks as exampled by his pass to Matolino on the last in the previous game.

With less than 50% of the ball and a pathetic number of completions - there was no way the forwards were going to dominate or make good metres. Matulino has been singled out for approx. 50 metres - if we had our share of the ball and the usual 80% completions he may have doubled that and been over the 100 metres (no complaints).
You can't make 100 metres plus without the ball.

Those going on about ET (one in particular) obviously were not watching the game. Playing fill-in hooker does not usually lend itself to making heaps of metres especially when making 57 tackles (God knows what the score would have been if he hadn't), but that's ok he is just a no hoper. Sure (Have you got your eyes painted on).

Shout out for Brooks - great game under the circumstances.

Back on track - Benji needs a skyrocket (along the lines "Mate! if you kick before the fourth tackle, kick out on the full or run sideways - you will be hooked and play ISP for quite awhile").

Lastly I feel sorry for Packer because most think when he comes back all will be well. He will help greatly but the others have to put in, he can't play their game for them as well. He is on a hiding to nothing. If we go well when he is back - expected that, if we go bad - knew he wasn't as good as everyone was saying.

Russell our dud winger made over 170m and had 10 mins off…

Do you drop the chicken or the egg …...... ??

There is so much hate for Benji because we won our first 4 games off the back of constant grinding. We weren't the best in regard to tackling and our statistics prove exactly that. But, we would exhaust the opponent through repeat sets and smart tactics.

Benji has moved away from that and is trying a miracle ball or hail mary on every play and it's disturbing. He has absolutely stuffed the teams structure and needs a reality check.

This week will really test Cleary. He has Gamble at his disposal and in all honesty I would even be happy to see Marsters at 5/8 with Brooks controlling the game.

Reynolds isn't back until round 11 and won't even be match fit.

Benji needs a MASSIVE reality check.

Is it media or is it footy Benji? So sick of these 'we need to step up' articles! They're the same as 2012.

Benji attempts at miracle plays and bad options in recent weeks have put too much pressure on the forwards which have worn them down, He was doing the exact same stuff before he left the first time, punt him asap

Desperately in need of an 'I need to step back a little' article and following it up with action. He has shown that he has a place in this side, he just needs to remember what it is.

The first thing I see in this game is four of our starting pack fail to run for 50 metres.

Ill worry about Benji after that .

Thats kind my point.

Go back to basics. Stop getting smashed in the ruck.

Beni needs to take better options. However if people think dropping him ks the solution well they will be surprised.

The oppositions team ruck speed is killing us in the middle.

more than any other team we very much depend on our backs to get us over half line! Without
Nofoaluma's 150 m and penalties he gets as he is very hard to tackle, it would be even worse.
IMHO our major weakness in attack remains our 2nd raw/lock, we can only play one out of Taylor, Rochow and Lawrence.
Usually total run meters for 3 of them is less than Nofoaluma.
Fonua's runs helped, as Zelezniak is nowhere near as dangerous.
Usually, it is only Chee-Kam and Aloiai (and on a good day Sue) that can break the line.
On the other hand Lawrence, Taylor, and Rochow are usually solid in D.
I would try the following
11 Aloiai
12 Chee-Kam
13 Taylor

and Falise or Garner on the bench.
Grant was our best prop last night, hopefully Matulino will not become another Blair 😛ray:
We need Packer and Matulino to be among the top NRL props, and Twal and Eisenhuth to make another step forward.
After the last 2 games, Marshall needs to recover his confidence in ISP, and Gamble to come at 5/8.
We made this year a huge step forward, our scrambling D is among the best in the league, even with (still) too many missed tackles. Brooks, Marsters and Thompson made huge step forward.
Go Tigers :sign:

To leave our best player out in Lawrence is dumb, dumb, dumb.

Taylor pulls off 57 tackles (is the only player we have that slows down the ruck) and he is in discussion to be dropped ???
You can do what you like with Rochow - probably replace him with McQueen. (he needs a break - 80 minutes is too much for him at the moment).

If you replace Marshall with Gamble - this week he faces Thurston and Morgan. If you do that to him you might as well end his career now especially as he is not playing that well to start with.

Yet if Benji had any idea we still would have beat the knights and eels even allowing for our forwards effort, but Benji and to a lesser degree Brooks couldn't ice those games, and Benji took his ordinary game to a whole new level of garbage yesterday.
He needs to go, he is supposed to be the 250 gamer cool head, he will never learn, sideways running, crap kicks giving away 7 tackle sets, running on the last and passing to a forward, or just kicking on tackle 1, 2 or 3 he has it all. :deadhorse:

When it comes to garbage Benji is the ultimate recycler .

Benji has been poor along with about 10 others or more. Personally I think our roster is now being exposed, we lack speed.skill and punch right across the roster. We will not come last but we will be closer to the bottom than the top. We need some really good recruitment for 2019 to be a real top eight team

Give him a break. There haven't been any passes to the 1st row of the crowd, though recent performances seem to be working up to that.
